Rick and Morty Season 6 has finally dropped and it seems geared for something bigger than ever. A lot of narrative avenues have changed and some of them were expanded, such as the sub-plot for Evil Morty. Along with that, other hanging plot points and mini-stories received their belated explanation.

The very first episode of Season 6 even answered a lot of the lingering questions that had been suspended in the air as early as Season 1. Needless to say, there were some pretty big revelations that fans would surely appreciate, especially after Rick and Morty kept dangling important story bits like carrots on a stick. Here are some of the biggest of those carrots.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead

8 The Actual Dimension C-137

Season 5 ended with a bang (both literal and figurative) when viewers got a glimpse of Rick's origin story. It was through a memory shard but as always, seemed more like a suggestion than the truth. After all, the previous seasons kept teasing Rick's origin like this. Season 6 confirmed this, thankfully, by sending Rick back to his original dimension.

The dimension is C-137. It's one of the many dimensions with Rick in it but the difference is, that this one was where Rick's wife Diane, and a young Beth were killed by another Rick to spite Rick C-137 or the mainstream Rick in the show. In true Rick fashion though, he ruined his own dimension through his grief and impulsiveness.

7 Morty "C-137" Doesn't Exist

The Stand By Me Mortys

Now since Beth died in Dimension C-137, there was no way that Summer and Morty existed in C-137 Rick's origin dimension. It's just that Morty mistook himself as hailing from the same dimension as C-137 Rick so he kept calling himself Morty C-137. Season 6 Episode 1 even made it clear that what's left of the council of Ricks were puzzled why Morty called himself "C-137."

Because all Ricks know that there is no Morty C-137. Mainstream Morty's real dimension, the one that got "Cronenberged" was called something else other than C-137. For many fans, this cleared up a lot of potential plot holes and queries as to why Rick C-137 is so attached to mainstream Morty or even Summer. He never had one in his own dimension.

6 Why Rick C-137 Stayed With Prime Morty

Rick C-137, through his grief and vengefulness, became a toxic grandparent. And if there were infinite universes for him to claim, why stay with his current Morty and their current Smith family? Again, Season 6's opening episode explained this in full detail.

Initially, Rick C-137 stayed in mainstream Morty's original (Cronenberged) universe to wait for the villainous Rick who killed his wife and daughter. Beth, of course, mistook C-137 Rick for her original Rick who had left her when she was young. It's just that somewhere along the way, Rick C-137 got too attached to mainstream Morty while waiting for the original evil Rick to come back.

This also explains why C-137 Rick is so apprehensive about Jerry becoming a husband to Beth. C-137 Rick's last glimpse of his original daughter was back when she was young. Seeing a worn down and regretful adult Beth probably wasn't something that would have happened to his C-137 household; he was a family man before an evil Rick ruined his life.

5 The Rickest Rick

The original Rick of the Cronenberged dimension did come back, but only after the apocalypse swept the planet. Turns out, he is the "Rickest Rick" of them all, not C-137. He's nihilistic, chaotic, and truly selfish. This is a Rick that has killed and would kill other Ricks' families just because he can.

Just like Evil Morty, this Evil Rick or Rick Prime was unapologetically wicked. He didn't ever care for his original Cronenberged Primed dimension seeing as he killed his original Jerry and even abandoned his original Beth. The series might be on to something here, especially since they're hinting at a new main villain apart from Evil Morty.

4 No More Portable Portals

Portals have been one of the series' biggest plot devices and quirks. Now, they're not as ubiquitous or accessible as they should be thanks to Evil Morty's machinations. He ruined the Ricks' small pocket of the multiverse where they're superior and only their portals would work.

It would seem that Rick C-137 has to invent the same portal technology as Evil Morty in order to catch up to him or restore his carefree portal-jumping back to its former functionality. Seeing as he and the Council of Ricks took some time to develop their own enclosed portal space and tech, it might take a while before C-137 Rick comes up with the Golden Portal Gun.

3 They Took The "Wrong" Jerry

Ever since that Jerryboree or Jerry Daycare episode in Season 2, a lot of fans have been asking whether Rick and Morty took home an unoriginal Jerry back to the dimension they're squatting in. Turns out they did, as was confirmed by Season 6's opening episode.

The Jerry they had right now wasn't originally theirs and was from another dimension. It also seems this Jerry's original dimension is a lot more miserable since Beth kept berating him and Morty got expelled from school. Granted, this Jerry went through a lot more compared to the other Jerrys. He's been through a divorce, an apocalypse, and too many adventures with C-137 Rick.

2 Apocalypse Jerry's Fate

Speaking of Jerry, Jerry Prime (the one in the Cronenberged dimension), definitely lived up to his name. This Jerry, or Morty Prime's original dad, became a hardened loner and survivor of the prime dimension. He even managed without Beth and Summer who both died, which is another big revelation.

For many, this was probably the best redemption and transformation for Jerry. He was stoic, capable, and smart (sort of) — at least when compared to his usual Jerry counterparts. It goes to show that Jerry would thrive if Rick and Morty stayed out of the Smiths' lives; Rick Prime returning to kill Jerry Prime proved that point.

1 Every Member Of The Smith Family Is Now Special & Non-Expendable Like Prime Morty

rick-and-morty-season-6-episode-1-2

In the early episodes and seasons, it was mostly just Rick and Morty being aware that their other selves in other universes didn't matter much. Thus, through this nihilistic existentialism, they were able to rise above the rest and make themselves unique or irreplaceable.

Now, the same can be said for all the members of the Smith family after the events of Season 6's first episode. They witnessed their other selves killed and they even buried their other selves to squat in their universe.

With that kind of awareness and knowledge, they're practically irreplaceable as well. Rick can't just sacrifice or exchange them as tempering and training the replacement would take too long and might yield unpredictable results. Deny as he might, Rick is now the closest he has ever been to having a complete and redeeming family.
