After a little over a year since the last season, Rick and Morty is set to return for season 5 on Adult Swim on Sunday, June 20th. In celebration of the beloved fan-favorite series, Adult Swim is calling the day "Global Rick and Morty Day" and has been releasing some fun ways to celebrate the occasion.

Along with teasing behind-the-scenes clips and images on social media, Adult Swim branded a "Global Rick and Morty Day" with a YouTube clip a little over a week ago. Now, Adult Swim has made an online simulator in a celebration that allows fans to put together a Rick and Morty character that emulates themselves, their friends, or a brand new monstrosity altogether, called "Rick Yourself."

The "Rick Yourself" creator allows fans to download or share their "Ricked" avatars on social media, with the possibility of your creation being featured on Adult Swim for "Rick and Morty Day." Fans can even print their Ricked avatar on a custom t-shirt ordered on the Adult Swim website. On Instagram, Adult Swim shared some images of celebrities and cast members who got Ricked like Lil' Nas, Camila Mendes, Eric Andre, and Spencer Grammer. Of course, Grammer voices the nonchalant ever self-conscious Summer Smith, Morty's sister.

In their YouTube announcement of "Global Rick and Morty Day," Adult Swim also teased a clip of a miniature ship harboring the Rick and Morty characters on top of a drone. The clip teases that the drone will be flying around 150,000 ft up into the atmosphere, actively shooting footage of whatever or whoever it passes on an anticipated day. Adult Swim mentions that even more is in store for fans who tune in on June 20th, possibly more behind-the-scenes content.

With the debut of Rick and Morty in 2013, the show quickly became an instant classic and developed a huge fan base. Adult Swim is acknowledging this base with the amount of fan and viewer interactions set for this upcoming "Rick and Morty Day." With its unique blend of humor, sci-fi, and movie references, the now-iconic characters of narcissistic Rick and awkward Morty are sure to promise more laughs, space voyages, and Tik Tok worthy songs in season 5.

There will be plenty more from the series in the years ahead. In fact, a seventh season of the show was already being written well before the fifth premiered, and producer Scott Marder has expressed his belief that a movie can happen someday.

Rick and Morty season 5 premieres on June 20th, 2021, at 11:00 pm ET on Adult Swim.
