RetroMania Wrestling was initially released in February 2021 on PC before coming to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 shortly after. The game is the official sequel of the classic arcade game WrestleFest and features a similar set of gameplay mechanics to give players a nostalgic, old-school wrestling experience that differentiates it from the WWE 2K series.

Along with the gameplay mechanics, RetroMania Wresting also takes players on a trip down memory lane with its visuals and animations that offer an impressive modernized take on a classic style. The game's arena designs are particularly impressive, and it is clear that a lot of care and attention has been taken to making each of them look unique.

16 British Arena

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - British Arena

The aforementioned care and attention that was clearly taken to make each arena make it hard to have to put one at the bottom of this list. However, the British Arena takes the unfortunate prize for lacking originality.

Rather than featuring some quintessential British visuals, the arena just has a handful of British flags dotted about, which feels uninspired and bare-bones compared to other entries on this list.

15 Warehouse

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - Warehouse

The warehouse certainly isn't a bad arena, as it serves its purpose of being a gritty place that will make players feel like they've stumbled into some sort of fight club. However, the grey tones harm its aesthetical appeal, and it's very similar to the next entry on this list which has a slightly more appealing design.

14 Pro Wrestling Tees

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - Pro Wrestling Tees

Many wrestling fans will recognize the name Pro-Wrestling Tees. As the name suggests, Pro-Wrestling Tees is a seller of branded t-shirts, along with other merchandise such as Books, Posters, and figures.

The arena has a low spot on this list for a similar reason to the Warehouse, though it finishes slightly higher thanks to the nice addition of the t-shirts on the right-hand side.

13 The Ballroom

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - The Ballroom

The Ballroom arena features in a fairly low spot as it struggles to stand out from some of the other entries on this list. However, the change in entrance point and inclusion of the upper section does make it somewhat unique and give it the feel of an indie arena, similar to what many of the wrestlers on the game's roster have likely performed in before.

12 NWA 70th Anniversary

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - NWA 70th Anniversary

The NWA is one of the most historic pro-wrestling promotions still active today. It was founded all the way back in 1948, as is home to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, which has had legendary holders such as Ric Flair, Lou Thesz, and Dusty Rhodes.

The companies 70th-anniversary show took place in 2018, and although the in-game arena is a nice homage to the show, it struggles to stand out from other entries on this list.

11 RetroMania

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - RetroMania

The RetroMania arena is a decent attempt at what is the game's standard, benchmark arena. Like the last entry, it does little to differentiate itself from many of the other entries on this list, though it's a solid design that sets a high bar for every other arena in the game to follow.

10 Japan

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - Japan

The Japan arena is a good example of what the UK arena could and perhaps should have been like, with its numerous unique features.

Like with the British arena, the Japanese arena comes at an important point during the game's story mode, so it's nice that the place has its own identity to make players feel like they are truly traveling the world in their pro-wrestling journey.

9 Universal Wrestling College

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - University Wrestling College

The Universal Wrestling College arena does an excellent job of implementing the institution that it is based on. The Universal Wrestling College is a training center ran by Austin Idol that lets fans chase their dream of being a pro-wrestler with the help of the former NWA National Heavyweight Champion.

8 House of Hardcore

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - House of Hardcore

The House of Hardcore is a promotion founded by ECW legend and RetroMania Wrestling roster member Tommy Dreamer. The promotion's in-game arena accomplishes its goal of giving the impression of a gritty hardcore aesthetic, with concrete floors that look like a nightmare to take bumps on and acknowledgment to hardcore legends like Terry Funk.

7 School

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - School

Much like The Ballroom, a US high school is a place where many indie wrestling events take place. The School arena nails the feeling of a quintessential high school, fit with grumpy looking teachers, vibrantly dressed teens, basketball court outlines on the floor, and even a guy in the second row who appears to be wearing 3D glasses, for some reason.

6 Hell

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - Hell

On the complete other end of the spectrum to the quintessential school is the utterly ridiculous depiction of a pro-wrestling arena in Hell. The arena is a fantastic display of the developers' creative side and offers a nice change of pace to the rest of the entries on this list.

5 Beach

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - Beach

The Beach is one of the only arenas that is stationed outside, giving it a truly unique feel. Much like with Hell, the drastic change in scenery offered by the Beach helps to give the game's arenas a great feeling of diversity.

The Beach is also one of the most well-animated arenas in the game, especially with the simple yet immersive movement of the sea in the background.

4 STOMP In Paradise

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - Stomp In Paradise

The STOMP In Paradise arena is almost identical to the Beach and consequently features in a similar spot. However, STOMP In Paradise ranks slightly ahead for its impressive artwork in the center of the ring, along with the aesthetically pleasing sunset.

Anyone who likes the beach aesthetics will be happy to know that there is a slightly altered third version in the game, titled Major Wrestling Figure Podcast.

3 Stevie Richard's Fitness

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - Stevie Richards Fitness

The Stevie Richard's Fitness arena is the first one to appear in the game's story mode, so it was important that the devs nailed its design.

Thankfully, the design doesn't disappoint, kicking the game off in style with a wonderfully detailed gym that features numerous animations of people working out in the background.

2 NWA Power

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - NWA Powerrr

The NWA Power arena could have easily topped this list as it shows the developers' design skills at their best, with the excellent implementation of the NWA Power arena seen in the promotions weekly shows.

The arena is perfect for anyone wanting a realistic feel to their game and perhaps would like to see dream matches like Nick Aldis vs. Hawk take place in the modern arena.

1 Too Many Games

RetroMania Wrestling Arena - Too Many Games

The Too Many Games arena is a wonderfully designed location that is filled to the brim with animations and arcade nostalgia that the game is built upon.

Too Many Games exemplifies why the British stage ranked so poorly. Whereas that arena felt uninspired, Too Many Games was clearly meticulously designed with passion as everywhere players look, there is nostalgic gold.
