Throughout Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose, players are tasked with finding three masks to use on a statue in the Main Hall of Castle Dimitrescu. These Bronze, Silver, and Gold Masks, when reunited, will open the way to the Purifying Crystal, which Rose seeks to cure her mutant abilities.
Furthermore, in the mold-ridden remains of Castle Dimitrescu, players can come across gooey, vine-twisted flowers – called cores – which block many paths in the dreamscape. This guide will show players how to clear these cores to get the Bronze Mask and progress further in Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose.
How to Find the Bolt Cutters and Open the Dining Room Door
The first cores that players will encounter can be found in the Main Hall of Castle Dimitrescu, though they can’t be cleared just yet. Instead, head into the adjacent Dining Room to find a chained door leading to the courtyard.
To progress further, take the corridor to the left of the chained door and follow it around to the Kitchen. To the left of this room, players can find a small alcove where the Bolt Cutters can be found resting on a table.
Where to Find the Bronze Mask
Upon using the Bolt Cutters in the Dining Room, players will exit out into the Courtyard, where they can find the Bronze Mask on a vine-entwined statue. To retrieve this mask, Rose Winters must first develop her powers enough to clear out these gooey, flower-like cores, but in order to do so, she must first explore more of Castle Dimitrescu.
How to Clear the Cores and Get the Bronze Mask
Firstly, players must venture through the brazier-flanked door of the left side of the Courtyard, heading up the stairs and entering the Library. Here, players will have to carefully navigate around mold-flooded floors and the five Husks that wander between the bookcases.
After escaping the Library via the door on the far side, players will enter Castle Dimitrescu's Atelier and will be tasked with crossing the mold. To do so, take the stairs up and drop a ladder down that Rose can walk across to safely navigate the room.
Where to Find the RW-Variant Flask 1
Squeeze through a gap at the far end of the Atelier and head right through a narrow hall to reach a ladder. Heading up will take players to the attic Workshop where they can save their game at a Typewriter and find the RW-Variant Flask 1. This will allow Resident Evil's Rose Winters to clear cores by aiming at them and using her power, allowing players to make their way back to the Courtyard and grab the Bronze Mask.
The Bronze Mask has a single protrusion on its back, meaning it can only be placed on the leftmost statue in the Main Hall.
