Of the many exciting titles releasing later in 2021, Resident Evil Village is one that many in the gaming community have been looking forward to. Following the massive success of Resident Evil 7Resident Evil Village is looking to expand upon everything that was established in the previous game in terms of both gameplay and narrative. Though, in the excitement leading up to the game, one player has managed to recreate a screenshot via some rather unexpected means.

Resident Evil Village marks the return of Ethan Winters, the primary playable character in Resident Evil 7. The eighth installment in the series will serve as the continuation of Ethan's story. While the game won't be out for another two months, a content creator has given fans an idea of what the finished product could look like.

Mojo Swoptops on YouTube has dynamically recreated a screenshot from Resident Evil Village using the map builder in Far Cry 5Mojo takes the viewer through the process of recreating the screenshot point by point during the video and the finished product is ultimately quite impressive, despite not having the same level of graphical polish as the RE Engine. It is, admittedly, rather strange to see someone utilizing the map builder from Far Cry 5 of all things and not some other popular sandbox tool.

This actually isn't the first time that Mojo Swoptops has recreated a scene from the Resident Evil series using Far Cry 5's map builder. Back in late January the user recreated the village from Resident Evil 4 in Far Cry 5. For a game as old as Resident Evil 4, fans may be pleased to see such a classic game receive such a significant improvement in terms of graphics.

Although, it does make one wonder when exactly the remake of Resident Evil 4 will be announced. It could be that Capcom wants to completely devote its attention to the release of Resident Evil Village, but as of right now, it's still only rumored to be in development.

Then again, there are currently a large number of ongoing Resident Evil projects that are currently in development, aside from Resident Evil Village. What with the reboot of the film franchise, a Netflix Resident Evil TV series, and a CGI animated Netflix movie titled Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Capcom currently has a lot of irons in the fire in terms of Resident Evil. It's safe to say at this point that now could not be a better time to be a Resident Evil fan.

Resident Evil Village is set to release on May 7, 2021, for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
