Lady Dimitrescu first appeared in promotional materials for Resident Evil Village in June of last year, and it's safe to say that since then she has become the game's mascot. While returning characters Ethan Winters and Chris Redfield are popular among the Resident Evil fanbase, the giant vampire lady has captured the imagination of fans, who want to know seemingly everything about her. Resident Evil Village releases today, and it was only a matter of time before the modding community got to experiment with the famous vampire. Now, players can swap her beautiful yet unsettling visage for the face of Thomas the Tank Engine.

For gamers familiar with popular mods, mods featuring Thomas the Tank Engine have been around for some time now. The shiny plastic train with an unwavering smile has been modded into several games including Grand Theft Auto 5 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, but his first debut was in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim in 2013. Although the Thomas the Tank Engine mod got its creator into legal trouble, it has persisted ever since, and Thomas' face is used to terrifying effect in the mod for Resident Evil Village.

This mod is created by Nexus Mods user Crazy Potato and is called "Count Theodora." As shown in the video below, Lady Dimitrescu now has the unnerving stare of a dead-eyed Thomas the Tank Engine complete with blood-red lipstick. Lady Dimitrescu's towering height is on full display here as she rakes her Freddy Krueger-like claws across the protagonist while Thomas' theme song plays in the background. The mod itself doesn't include the theme music but Crazy Potato's video is impressive and even includes a reference to P.T. near the end.

Although fans can see other parts of Thomas' engine in front of Lady Dimitrescu's neck, this video, unfortunately, doesn't show a good sideways profile shot of the modded vampire lady. Thomas' full length actually sticks out behind her head, creating an eerie deformed head look that makes her even more terrifying. PC players looking to download this mod must have the Fluffy Mod Manager for RE8. If this isn't disturbing enough, players can also check about a Barney mod for Resident Evil Village that turns NPCs into the purple dinosaur.

Now that Resident Evil Village has finally released, there will probably be several more mods for the game that may make it scarier or inject some humor into all the horror. Whether Lady Dimitrescu has a Thomas sized growth on her head or not, she looks to be a tough enemy. Although other enemies can be taken down with bullets or explosives, killing Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village may prove to be a more complicated task.

Resident Evil Village is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
