Resident Evil Village is finally out, and players are once again loving the direction that Capcom is taking the classic survival horror franchise. The reviews for Resident Evil Village are quite positive, with many praising the overall quality of life improvements made, the cast of characters, and the game's performance on current-gen hardware.

However, Resident Evil Village is still very early in its life cycle, meaning Capcom is continuing to try to get the word out to as many potential players as possible. In fact, Capcom has made quite the impressive PR stunt to promote Resident Evil Village, involving a giant piece of chalk art drawn on the side of a hill in Somerset, UK.

The chalk art in question is of a lycan, or a traditional werewolf in folklore. The art itself is very reminiscent of other real world chalk art and geoglyphs found throughout the hills and highlands of the UK. For those readers who have played Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, those games had a similar geoglyph in the in-game town of Turffield. Capcom's lycan art piece is massive, taking up a majority of the hill it's drawn on.

While the piece is now adorned with the logo for Resident Evil Village, according to the publication SomersetLive, the lycan initially appeared overnight with no logo attached whatsoever. Naturally, this caused quite the stir within the local community around Somerset. However, Capcom swiftly came in and claimed ownership over the art piece. Despite mirroring the rudimentary art style of famous real-world hill figures, Capcom's lycan does somewhat resemble the werewolf found in Resident Evil Village.

It's a pretty awesome PR move, as it's a pretty outlandish way to promote a video game. Still, Capcom has promoted Resident Evil Village in interesting ways before this chalk art piece, such as partnering with the popular Japanese Enka singer Yoshi Ikuzo to signal boost the company's most recent title. Capcom's tweet of the artwork from the Resident Evil Twitter account is already blowing up on social media, gathering over 5,000 likes in just one day.

For those who may live in Somerset and are wondering where they can find the chalk art in real life, Somerset Live noted that the figure appeared on a hillside "in the Mendip Hills near Cheddar." Provided one finds themselves in the area, the massive chalk art will be quite hard to miss. While Capcom's lycan art piece may not be overly flashy and colorful, it's still a sight to behold as far as massive video game murals go. Though, it's unclear just how long the mural will remain intact, as a decent bit of rain could wash the piece away. Hopefully, players lucky enough to find themselves in the area can enjoy the piece with their own eyes.

Resident Evil Village is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
