Resident Evil Village has a lot to offer its players in terms of scale and worldbuilding. With expansive environments possessing a high degree of detail, memorable characters, and terrifying moments, Resident Evil Village has plenty to dig deep into. However, while the base game has a lot to offer, it has a lot of potential for modding as well.

Despite only being out commercially for less than two weeks, modders have already been hard at work bringing players a variety of ridiculous mods for Resident Evil Village. These range from basic texture changes to resolution mods that make the game look even more beautiful than it already is, while other mods significantly change up the gameplay. There's also genuinely strange mods, like one that released just a few days ago.

Thanks to a new mod made by Kallialee, any time the player looks at Lady Dimitrescu her hat grows in size. After a couple of hours of playing in the Castle Dimitrescu section of the game, Dimitrescu's hat can become bigger than the vampire lady herself, which is saying a lot. It's hilarious to see a gigantic sun hat with legs moving around throughout the castle.

Mods like this one go to show the creativity that members of the modding community possess. There are obviously mods players have come to expect, such as Thomas the Tank Engine showing up in Resident Evil Village. However, there have also been some especially strange mods to come from Resident Evil Village in particular.

For instance, one player managed to create a mod that replaces Ethan's baby with Chris Redfield. The fact that the game has still been out for such a short time frame and already there's a cacophony of weird mods for players to choose from is quite impressive.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what modders get up to with Resident Evil Village in the months to come. Then again, it's already exciting to see what modders have been doing in the short term. One person even managed to put Barney the Dinosaur in Resident Evil Village back when only the demo was available. With any luck, fans of the game will get to see the volume of mods continue to grow.

Resident Evil Village is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
