Resident Evil Village may not be as frightening as Resident Evil 7 was, but the latest entry in the survival horror series still retains most of what makes the series so iconic to begin with. There are many puzzles for players to solve as they make their way through the eerie village and the unsettling castle, such as one that involves film strips and a slide projector in a certain room.
Players will eventually reach a point in Resident Evil Village in which they have to gather five film strips and place them in a particular order so that they can find a hidden exit out of the room. By using this guide, players can figure out how to solve the film puzzle and make their way to a new area of the map.
How to Solve the Film Puzzle in Resident Evil Village
Once players reach the room with the film strips, they will need to move them around until they are in the right spots. The image below shows exactly how the film strips should be lined up, and the rest of the guide puts that information into text form, just in case the image is hard to see for players.
To complete the film puzzle and find the secret exit out of the room, players will need to line up the five film strips like so:
- The strip with the stuffed animals
- The book that reads "Village of Shadows"
- The child
- The music chest
- The hand with the ring on it
Once the five strips are lined up the right way, players should now press the button to play the movie. After a short sequence plays, a bookshelf in the corner of the room will slide over, allowing Ethan Winters to go inside of a hidden room that has a pair of scissors and a passageway covered up with some type of material. Players can then use the scissors to cut their way into the passageway.
Just like this puzzle and the confusing Statue puzzle in Hall of Ablution, there are plenty of challenging tasks that players will need to solve while they work their way to rescue the main character's daughter, Rose. And of course, even the vampire lady herself, Lady Dimitrescu, will be making an appearance or two throughout the game's story.
