Resident Evil Village launched earlier this year to some strong reviews, leaving many fans wanting more. Luckily, fans didn’t have to wait much longer for Capcom to confirm that Resident Evil Village DLC was in development, and there’s no doubt fans are excited to see what form said DLC takes. There’s a ton of possibilities and things that could be explored, but Capcom only confirmed it was in development, revealing nothing about the project.

That could be about to change. To celebrate the Resident Evil franchise’s 25th anniversary, Capcom released a new website that teases nine announcements/releases for this Halloween. The first two have been revealed, that being the Resident Evil 25th Halloween Gift Campaign and Resident Evil 4 VR’s Oculus release on October 21. Three more announcements are planned for October 21, two for October 22, one for October 25, and one for October 29.

What each of these announcements and reveals are remains to be seen, but there’s reason to believe that at least one of them is Resident Evil Village’s DLC. The Capcom website’s background, as pointed out by SegmentNext, includes artwork that fits into the story Rose reads Mia in Resident Evil Village. While the reveals are tied to the greater Resident Evil franchise, it doesn’t make sense to include Village artwork and reveal nothing related to the latest game whatsoever.

If Capcom is indeed planning on making a Resident Evil Village-related announcement, then the only thing that really makes sense is new information on its upcoming DLC. Since DLC only entered development earlier this year, it’s not likely to be a big reveal or surprise release—or anything like that—but it could reveal plans, a roadmap, a release window, or a teaser trailer for Resident Evil Village’s DLC.

Either way, fans will just have to wait and see what Capcom’s planned announcements are as those dates get closer. The final reveal is just a couple of days before Halloween, and it’s an appropriate series of announcements to celebrate the season, as well as Resident Evil itself. After all, that rationale is likely one reason Games with Gold included Resident Evil: Code Veronica in this month’s line-up.

Indeed, Resident Evil often dominates any sort of Halloween horror game list, and Resident Evil Village is more than appropriate to play this Halloween. A DLC announcement could spur many to return for another playthrough. No matter what, though, at least fans don’t have a long wait on their hand for Resident Evil’s 25th-anniversary announcements.

Resident Evil Village is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
