During the most recent Resident Evil Village showcase, Brittney Brombacher, the host of the event, commented on Lady Dimitrescu and pronounced the name as "Lady Dimitreesk." Apparently, the u in Dimitrescu is silent, which came as a shock to many fans of the character. It's possible that they have been mispronouncing Lady Dimitrescu's name for the last several months.

When asked after the event, Brombacher later confirmed that Capcom had briefed her in terms of how the name is supposed to be pronounced. Considering that Capcom approved that particular take, it seems that is most likely the way that Lady Dimitrescu's name is supposed to be pronounced, which might come as a shock for some fans.

In fairness, no other character has said Lady Dimitrescu's name out loud during any of the promotional material for Resident Evil Village. Thus, fans only had the spelling of her name to go off of in terms of how the name is supposed to be announced. In fact, other than Ethan and Mia Winters, Chris Redfield, and the mysterious Mother Miranda, no other character has been referred to by name during any of the game trailers.

It will be interesting to see what the finished version of Resident Evil Village looks like. The newest demo for Resident Evil Village is certainly a promising showcase for what's to come in the main game, at least in terms of gameplay. Although, the story is still up for interpretation as not a lot has been given away in terms of story details. Then again, this was also the case for Resident Evil 7.

Resident Evil Village launches May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
