Resident Evil Village is less than three weeks away, and Capcom is making the final marketing push for the game, giving fans one last look before it releases. The recently released Village demo is leaving a good impression on fans so far, fleshing out Ethan Winters as a protagonist and letting fans play around with the combat systems. In Japan, a few celebrities have tried their hand at the demo, with cosplayer Enako and comedian Eiko Kano taking on Lycans swarming the village.

The centerpiece of the most recent Resident Evil Showcase event was a fourth trailer showing off some new areas and enemies in Resident Evil Village. This newly revealed content has not made an appearance in the demo as of yet, though the "Castle" demo has not been seen, with PlayStation users getting first crack at that starting April 24. Despite all the information fans now know, there is still a good deal that has been left in the shadows, so attention shifts to the demo and the experience of playing what has been released.

In the hands of Enako, Resident Evil Village offers plenty of scares during an official promotional video, as she struggles to keep her composure during some of the more intense gameplay on offer. Kano's playthrough of the demo runs a little longer, showing perhaps a little more experience with games like Village. He has done advertisements for video games in the past, so might be a little more of a gamer, though Enako holds her own and makes it through.

The pair of videos featuring Enako and Kano brings to mind the reaction-style videos that made YouTubers like Pewdiepie famous. While gameplay is part of the appeal, many are tuning in to see how someone reacts to the game. Pewdiepie recently took on Amnesia: Rebirth 10 years after his videos based on Amnesia: The Dark Descent made him a star. Enako and Kano don't reach the outrageous levels of overreaction that Pewdiepie and others used to hit, but Resident Evil Village provides enough moments to have the two jump and turn away in fear.

Resident Evil Village is riding on a substantial wave of hype, with Capcom touting the game as the scariest it has ever made. The return of Mercenaries mode in Village is a welcome surprise for long-time fans, and Lady Dimitrescu getting more screen time in promo materials is a given after the Internet exploded with reactions to the tall vampire lady. May 7 can't come soon enough for Resident Evil fans.

Resident Evil Village will be released May 7 on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
