Capcom regularly sends out surveys to its fan base in hopes of staying connected with them, like it did back in April with the survey on Resident Evil 3. Once again, Capcom is reaching out to fans, but this time about a possible Resident Evil Village demo.

With the next generation of consoles right around the corner, Resident Evil is looking to take full advantage of the new tech to make bigger, scarier games with better graphics. The next in the RE lineup is Village, or Resident Evil 8. This eighth installment will feature some amazing specs thanks to next gen consoles, like no game load times and amazing graphics. And it was also hinted during the Village survey that there may be a demo in the future.

Capcom tweeted out a survey for fans, looking for more information on what fans wanted from Village. In the questions, Capcom asked if fans would like access to a demo, or if a demo would make it more likely for them to purchase. Previous games, like the Resident Evil 3 Remake, had demos as well, giving fans a chance to try out the new content before purchase. This shows a lot of confidence from Capcom in the new games.

While the fact that the survey contains a question about a possible demo doesn't mean that the demo is guaranteed, it is a good indication that players may have a chance to try it out before they buy. The survey also asked what systems that players are looking to buy the next RE for, and only next gen consoles were listed. Perhaps Resident Evil Village will not appear at all on the PS4 or the Xbox One.

Another interesting tidbit picked up from the survey was Capcom's naming convention for the 8th installment of the RE series. There were a lot of pointed questions about whether gamers saw this as the 8th game, or if those being surveyed could see the number 8 in the title as important. Does this mean future RE titles will have Roman numerals instead of numbers as well?

While the survey doesn't give a whole lot of information about the coming RE game, it does give a few hints as to where Capcom is heading. From the trailer, the game looks scary, intense, and yet unique from the other games in the series. Unfortunately, there's no hint just yet if this new game will be available in VR, but fans of the series can hope.

Resident Evil 8: Village is in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X and PC, due for release in 2021.
