Resident Evil: Vendetta Clip Highlights Chris and Leon Gunplay

When Capcom announced back in September 2016 that a third CG film inspired by the first Resident Evil game was in the works, fans were practically over the moon in anticipation for additional details regarding what the movie would contain. Now, Sony Pictures Entertainment and the video game developer have released a fresh film clip for the upcoming movie that highlights the main characters Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy's lethal proficiency with firearms against a horde of zombies.

As seen in the brief film clip for Resident Evil: Vendetta below, fans can watch Chris and Leon make short work of a group of the undead with maneuvers that would make John Wick proud. Both of the survival-horror game series protagonists stick to their weapons of choice, with Chris wielding a meaty assault rifle, while Leon sticks with a handgun with a seemingly unlimited supply of ammunition.

While the latest piece of footage for Resident Evil: Vendetta doesn't offer much in the way of plot information, the story had been previously teased out in a trailer released several months back, detailing the plans of the movie's villain Glen Arias, who wants to start a zombie outbreak in New York City. As far as the film's placement in the chronology of the Resident Evil series is concerned, it's supposedly canon and is set somewhere in between RE6 and RE7.

Resident Evil: Vendetta is set to have an international release on May 27, 2017. As far as its debut in the North America is concerned, though, fans will only be privy to an exclusive one-night only theatrical release in the continent on June 19, 2017.

Of course, while Vendetta will be offering a new tale from the survival-horror franchise in the form of computer generated characters, the live-action film Resident Evil: The Final Chapter released last year to give moviegoers the conclusion to the story of former Umbrella employee Alice (Milla Jovovich). With this being the case, it will be interesting to see if box office returns for Resident Evil: Vendetta manage to best The Final Chapter.

Resident Evil: Vendetta is slated for international release on May 27, 2017.
