Following the release of footage highlighting the gunplay of its protagonists Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy, the video game developer Capcom and film studio Sony Pictures Entertainment have now unveiled the release date for the Blu-ray/DVD copies and digital editions of the forthcoming horror movie Resident Evil: Vendetta. According to the companies, the feature length motion picture will come out to download digitally on June 20, 2017 and it will then arrive on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Blu-ray a few weeks later on July 18, 2017.

For those unaware, the home video versions of Resident Evil: Vendetta are slated to arrive incredibly soon after the movie makes its one-day-only theatrical showing in North America on June 19. Interestingly enough, international markets will be privy to the horror film much earlier than those in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, as it will be releasing in other global areas on May 27, 2017.

As seen in the break down below, Resident Evil: Vendetta's 4K Blu-ray release will be the cream of the crop when it comes to the home viewing options for the film, as it will be a three-disc combo pack featuring 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray versions, HDR and Dolby Atmos support, and for those who do their shopping at Best Buy will have an exclusive steelbook version available for purchase through the retailer. Of course, there is some overlap between the 4K version and the other iterations, as the DVD and Blu-ray editions come with a bonus disc containing behind-the-scenes footage from the Tokyo Game Show 2016 and with two featurettes.

For those unaware, Resident Evil: Vendetta is the third entry in the CG film series, following 2012's Damnation. As far as its plot's concerned, it's set in New York City and focuses on franchise favorites Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers, as they attempt to take down the villainous Glen Arias, who is attempting to unleash a plague of zombies on the Big Apple. Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see if sales and critical reception for home video versions of Resident Evil: Vendetta outclass the series last live-action outing with The Final Chapter, as the Milla Jovovich venture was widely panned.

Resident Evil: Vendetta's theatrical debut comes out internationally on May 27, 2017, hits in North America for one day only on June 19, 2017, releases digitally on June 20, 2017, and comes out on Blu-ray/DVD on July 18, 2017.
