This past year, Resident Evil game publisher and developer Capcom was hit by a ransomware attack that revealed many of its upcoming projects. One of these leaked projects is something called Resident Evil: Outrage, apparently due for a late 2021 release, though it still has yet to be revealed to the public. While Resident Evil: Outrage has not been officially revealed at the time of this writing, rumors have persisted that it's a timed-exclusive on Switch, and it's possible the reveal could happen sooner rather than later.

Nintendo leaker Samus Hunter recently posted a long Twitter thread addressing some of their frequently asked questions. This included some Capcom-related things that they are asked about, like the aforementioned Resident Evil Switch game. According to their information, the leaked Resident Evil Switch game "was" set to be revealed this month, though it's possible that COVID-19 troubles and a focus on Resident Evil Village DLC have delayed its reveal.

As for other Capcom-related news, Samus Hunter believes that fans can expect information on more content coming for both of the Monster Hunter games that are out for the Switch. This would include Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, which is a more traditional JRPG, as well as Monster Hunter Rise, which stands as one of the highest-rated video game releases of 2021 so far. These Monster Hunter-related announcements are expected to come this month or October, if Samus Hunter's information is accurate.

Like with any "leak," fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt. It's entirely possible that Capcom's plans for the rumored Resident Evil Switch game have changed, or that Samus Hunter's information is inaccurate this time around. However, if Capcom is still planning on revealing the Resident Evil: Outrage game this month as rumored, it may have a couple of different opportunities to do so.

Besides potentially leaking Capcom's reveal plans for the Resident Evil Switch exclusive, Samus Hunter also alluded to the possibility of a Nintendo Direct event happening next week. This supposed September 2021 Nintendo Direct has been rumored for some time, though Nintendo itself has not made any official announcements. Nintendo usually doesn't like to give fans much notice when it comes to its Nintendo Directs, so it's still entirely within the realm of possibility that it will happen next week, but it would be better to keep one's expectations in check. Alternatively, Capcom could reveal the game at Tokyo Game Show 2021, as it's confirmed to be one of the companies present at the event. And of course, a reveal may not come this month at all.

In the meantime, all fans know about the rumored Resident Evil Switch game is what leakers and insiders have said about it. If the rumors are to be believed, the Resident Evil Switch game will star Rebecca Chambers as the primary playable character and will be set at a college of some kind, but again, nothing has actually been confirmed by anyone official at this time.

Resident Evil: Outrage is rumored to be in development.
