Within the last few years, Resident Evil has begun to make a tremendous comeback. With new first-person installments and HD remakes of the older titles, Resident Evil has reasserted itself as one of the greatest horror game franchises of all time. However, one of the more underappreciated additions to Resident Evil is Resident Evil: Resistance, an online multiplayer mode for the Resident Evil 3 remake. Now, the August update for Resident Evil: Resistance was just announced and includes quite a lot of new content.

As previously stated, Resident Evil: Resistance is the online multiplayer mode featured in the Resident Evil 3 remake. The mode is heavily reliant on 4v1 asymmetrical gameplay and is very similar to games like Dead by Daylight. While the game possesses quite a lot of content already, the free August update will offer players plenty of additional content to enjoy.

The August update includes a cacophony of additional content for players to enjoy. Now, players can enjoy remixed versions of previous maps, which will be sure to make things interesting given the large variety of maps in Resident Evil Resistance. Along with these remixed maps, there will also be a ton of new customizable items and gear for players to collect.

Finally, the update will include new survivor skins based on Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2. These skins can be worn by any and every playable survivor featured in Resident Evil: Resistance. Just in case anyone wanted to know what Jill Valentine dressed up as Claire Redfield looked like.

In any case, while this August update will give players a lot to enjoy, many fans of Resident Evil: Resistance are still looking for more variance in terms of maps and playable monsters and masterminds. Given how much Resident Evil content there is to pull from, many players feel that more can be done with this mode, especially considering the large level of monster and character variety featured in Dead by Daylight.

Nevertheless, conceptually speaking, Resident Evil: Resistance is an excellent experience with a great deal of further potential. The amount of tactics and consideration that players need to have while playing as Resistance's mastermind more than proves the potential that this online mode has. With any luck, Capcom will continue to build upon the foundation that Resident Evil: Resistance has formed and hopefully will continue to provide players with additional content to enjoy.

The August update for Resident Evil: Resistance will release on August 6th.
