A Resident Evil 4 fan has discovered that the developer left the Resident Evil remake Tyrant models hidden in the data of the high-definition PC version of the game, with a brief clip showing full animations. Given how the first entry in Capcom's flagship series laid the groundwork for early survival horror games, building off of 1992's Alone in the Dark, the RE franchise has been a staple in the genre, influencing many more titles that came after it. And the series is still going strong to this day.Alongside newer entries, there have also been a number of successful remakes. With the Resident Evil 4 remake coming next year, fans will have a chance to replay one of the most celebrated entries in the series. The games have left quite the impact on the horror scene, with each installment featuring a host of memorable characters, iconic locations, and some of the most beastly enemies in all of gaming. One such example is the infamous Tyrant, and it seems as though this creature has been hiding in the fourth entry.RELATED: Resident Evil 4 Remake will Feature In-Game Purchases, Possibly MultiplayerAs spotted by Bloody Disgusting, Twitter user emoose uploaded a short clip from their Resident Evil 4 playthrough. In the brief footage, when Leon Kennedy turns around, he is greeted by two Tyrants that begin to walk towards him. According to the user, these models are from REmake, the 2015 remake of the first game, and were found hidden in the files for RE4, specifically in the Ultimate HD version on PC that came out in 2014. While emoose says that this data may have been known about for some time, they were not aware that the AI code was built in as well. They have very kindly left instructions for anyone who wants to activate these Tyrants in the game.

For those who haven't played the series, Tyrants are Resident Evil's brutal stalkers, going back to the first game from 1996. They are notorious for being enormous in stature, terrifyingly mutated, and very powerful. Over the years, they have been featured in a number of entries, often cropping up at random intervals to chase the player. While not a Tyrant as such, Village's Lady Dimitrescu still exhibits the stalking mechanics of one, and it's interesting that emoose has found two regular Tyrants in RE4 that not only have animations, but will attack Leon as well.

Considered by many to be the best Resident Evil game of all time, the fourth installment helped move the franchise in a new direction. It ditched the fixed camera angles of the previous titles and switched up the formula to be more action-oriented, leaving a huge imprint on the world of survival horror.

The remake of Resident Evil 4 releases on March 24, 2023, for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
