The upcoming Resident Evil movie reboot is aiming to be a faithful recreation of the video games, and every set photo that comes out for it seems to indicate that it is definitely close to achieving that goal. The latest batch of Resident Evil movie reboot set photos show off the infamous Spencer Mansion, which was the location of the very first game in the Resident Evil series.

The photos show some interior shots of the Resident Evil movie reboot mansion, with filming supposedly happening at the Scottish Rite Club. An exterior shot is also shown, but it's unclear if the exterior shot will be used in the final product. Previously, a Resident Evil movie reboot set photo appeared to show a destroyed mansion, so it will be interesting to see just how much time the film spends at this particular location.

The Resident Evil movie reboot features characters from the first two Resident Evil games, and so it's unclear exactly how it's going to adapt the material. One possibility is that the movie reboot will shift the timeline so that the events of the first game and the second game occur at the same time. This would allow the film to switch between following the exploits of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine in the mansion and Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy in Raccoon City. However, that is just speculation at this time, as these specific details have yet to be revealed to the public.

Other Resident Evil movie reboot set photos reveal other things fans can expect from the upcoming film. Iconic locations like the Raccoon City Police Department are set to be featured, along with places like Emmy's Diner and Kendo's Gun Shop from Resident Evil 2. It also seems highly likely that Lisa Trevor will be in the Resident Evil movie reboot as well, though that is yet another detail that has yet to be confirmed.

At the time of this writing, the Resident Evil movie reboot is set to premiere in theaters at some point in 2021. Considering this, fans should be able to look forward to the first Resident Evil movie reboot trailer at some point next year. However, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic could certainly push things back, and so Resident Evil fans shouldn't get too excited just yet.

If the COVID-19 pandemic finally gets under control next year, then 2021 could be a big year for video game movies. Besides the Resident Evil movie reboot, the Mortal Kombat movie may also hit theaters at some point next year.

Resident Evil will premiere in theaters in 2021.
