The Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City movie is set to premiere on November 24, rebooting the Resident Evil movie franchise and adapting the stories of the first two games in the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City just dropped its first full-length trailer in anticipation of its release, revealing some of the monsters that the characters will encounter in the new movie.

The new Resident Evil movie is looking to be accurate to the video games, sticking close to the source material. This means that the monsters in the Resident Evil movie are all pulled from the video games. The recently released Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City movie trailer gives fans a look at some of the monsters that the characters will have to face off against in the film, with creatures from across the franchise represented.

Here are all the monsters confirmed to be appearing in the Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City movie.

Licker

Resident Evil new trailer released

Lickers first appeared in Resident Evil 2, and they have appeared in other Reisdent Evil movies in the past as well. Lickers operate on sound, using their long tongues to bind their victims. Players encounter their first Licker in the Raccoon City Police Department in Resident Evil 2, and it looks like the creature's debut in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will go down in much the same way. Viewers see the Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Licker at the very end of the trailer as it chases after Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy.

Lisa Trevor

Lisa Trevor was first introduced to the Resident Evil franchise as part of the Resident Evil 1 remake game. One of the franchise's most tragic figures, Lisa Trevor was subjected to horrific experiments by the Umbrella Corporation, eventually turning her into a violent, near-indestructible monster. Lisa's inclusion in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City has been known for some time, but she's only shown briefly in the trailer. The Lisa Trevor in the Resident Evil movie seems like she's going to be a bit more intelligent than the one in the video games, but fans will have to wait and see the exact role she plays in the film.

William Birkin

William Birkin is featured multiple times in the Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City trailer, positioned as a main player in Umbrella. Viewers can see a monster that looks similar to the mutated version of William Birkin from the Resident Evil 2 video game, with some liberties taken. It's entirely possible that this monster winds up being someone else, but assuming Welcome to Raccoon City sticks to the source material, this creature is the mutated William Birkin from the video games.

Zombie Dogs

Zombie dogs are a staple of the Resident Evil video games and they will be featured in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City as well. In the trailer, viewers see a zombie dog tormenting Chief Brian Irons as he explores the Raccoon City Police Department parking garage. It's unclear if the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team will encounter zombie dogs at the mansion like they do in the video game or not, but at least zombie dogs will be included in the film in some capacity.

Zombies

resident evil first zombie

Of course, it wouldn't be a Resident Evil movie without zombies, and so it's no surprise to see the undead featured in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. Viewers get a look at numerous zombies in the Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City trailer, including a horde trying to break into the Raccoon City Police Department. The group in the Spencer Estate mansion come across a zombie munching on an unlucky victim, only for it to turn around and make eye contact with them mid-meal. This is a throwback to the first zombie encounter in the original Resident Evil game, and so it's a nice Easter egg for longtime fans of the franchise.

It's possible that Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will have other monsters that weren't shown in the trailer. There are numerous monsters from the first two video games that are nowhere to be seen in the trailer, like the Hunters, the original Tyrant, and more. Then again, it's possible that the filmmakers want to save some of these creatures for a potential sequel, which one has to imagine is a possibility if Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is a box office success.

It's far too early to tell if Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is going to be popular with audiences or not, but there's no denying that the movie is going to great lengths to be as accurate to the video games as possible. With its premiere in just a month's time, fans don't have to wait too much longer to find out how closely it sticks to the games and if other monsters are featured or not.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City premieres November 24 in theaters.
