Yesterday the Nintendo eShop held a sale that offered some of Square Enix's biggest games at a discount. Now the eShop is offering a massive sale on Capcom's greatest hits for the Nintendo Switch, which will run until March 30, 2020.

Headlining Capcom's Greatest Hits Sale is Resident Evil 4, which was originally released back in 2004. The game is currently available for $19.99 on the Switch, which is 33% off its original list price of $29.99. Resident Evil 4 serves as the fourth main-entry in the longstanding survival-horror franchise and is often regarded as the game that heralded Resident Evil's departure from its traditional fixed camera gameplay. Since its release, Resident Evil 4 has become one of the most popular games in the franchise, which is why some people are wondering whether Capcom has plans for a Resident Evil 4 remake in the future.

Another popular title that is worth picking up right now is Mega Man 11 for the Nintendo Switch. The game is available for $14.99 or 50% off its original list price of $29.99. Mega Man 11 was released to the Switch back in October of 2018, reintroducing the classic game to both the old and new generations of gamers. The game's release to the Switch a couple of years ago was also to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary.

  • Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - $8.99 (Nintendo 3DS)
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice (Nintendo 3DS)

Meanwhile, it is without a doubt that remakes of Resident Evil games have been Capcom's bread and butter for a couple of years now. In January 2019, Capcom released the highly-anticipated remake of Resident Evil 2, which was well-received by both fans and critics, and in a week from now, the long-awaited Resident Evil 3 remake will hit shelves worldwide.

Given the resurgence of these classic Resident Evil games which were initially launched in the late '90s, many are wondering what Capcom plans to do with its long list of dormant franchises. In a 2019 investors report, Capcom announced that it plans to "awaken dormant intellectual properties" in conjunction with developing new brands. As of the moment, it is currently unclear which dormant franchise will be the first to be revitalized but it is likely that more details regarding this will emerge once Resident Evil 3 is released.
