Love it or loathe it, Resident Evil 6 is a unique experience that brings a fresh excitement. For the first time in the history of the Resident Evil franchise, the game lets you control six playable characters in three different campaigns: Leon Kennedy & Helena Harper, Chris Redfield & Piers Nivans, and Sherry Birkin & Jake Muller. After completing all three, Ada Wong's additional chapter will be unlocked to bring more perspective to each side of the story.

One of the newest characters to make their debut on Resident Evil 6 is Jake Muller. While an interesting character, there are some little-known facts that casual players might not catch at first.

10 Jake Muller Has A Connection To The Last Of Us' Joel

Via Naughty Dog

Familiar with Jake Muller's voice? While fans of post-apocalypse games are familiar with The Last of Us and Resident Evil franchises, only a few know that Troy Baker, the voice and the likeness of Joel Miller, was the man behind Jake Muller's motion capture suits.

Baker has been in the game of voice acting since 1996. He's also the voice behind Booker DeWitt from Bioshock Infinite, Higgs from Death Stranding, and Sam Drake in Uncharted.

9 It Wasn't The First Time Troy Baker Voiced A Resident Evil Character

Before landing himself a spot on Resident Evil 6, Troy Baker was a familiar face already, at least among hardcore fans of the franchise. In 2009, Baker was credited for additional voices on Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, available on Wii and PlayStation 3 systems. Aside from that, he also featured in Resident Evil: Degeneration, the CGI biopunk movie where Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield made their return to the franchise.

Guess who Baker's other castmate on Degeneration was? Laura Bailey, the motion artist of Abby Anderson from The Last of Us: Part II.

8 Jake Is European

Little Jakey was born in a single-parent household in Edonia, a fictional country in the Resident Evil universe, located in Eastern Europe.

Edonia was dragged into the endless war of bioterrorism, caused by La Vita Nuova rebels. Although it's unstated what country exactly Edonia is, in-game NPCs do speak the Serbian language, and its name could take inspiration from Edonis, an ancient region in Greece.

7 Jake Was Born In 1992

According to the additional contents of the game, young Jakey was born circa 1992, the son of Dr. Albert Wesker and an unnamed mother. With that being said, he's 20 years old during the event of Resident Evil 6.

In 1992, the Resident Evil universe was pretty calm. During that year, Mayor Michael Warren of Racoon City proposed a mega-plan of Bright Racoon 21, a plan to refurbish the city with a brand new, state-of-art hospital, and a plethora of sophisticated urban plannings. Umbrella, of course, funded the project.

6 Jake Never Met His Father

By the time he was born, Jake's father, Dr. Albert Wesker, was only an intelligent Umbrella Corporation agent. Jake grew up fatherless; hence young Jake grew a deep bond with her mother. He never holds a high opinion of his father and often described him as a 'dead-beat.'

Since a very young age, Jake had to provide for his family and they 'barely had enough for daily needs.' He did his best, but he couldn't understand why his mother was so emotionally intertwined with his father, who'd gone AWOL long before he knew anything.

5 Jake Was A Soldier Of Fortune

To escape the life of poverty, Jake had to join the militia from a very young age. He fought countless conflicts all over the world, and in 2007, he found himself in the Edonian Liberation Army side of the country's ongoing Civil War— all for the money.

According to the file titled Soldiers of Fortune, 17-year-old Jake was fond of his first trainer, who 'treated him almost like a son.' Unfortunately, things went sour between the two after Jake found out that the mercenary had served as a double agent 'who sold out the whole unit.'

4 His Mother Passed Away After He Became A Mercenary

Not too long after joining the rebel militia group as a soldier of fortune, Jake's mother passed away. She succumbed to death after an unknown illness. It affected Jake both mentally and physically, especially after his trainer's betrayal. He found no one else to trust in the world but himself.

He still worked as a paid soldier, but his desire for money is no longer on the table, the only person he cared about long gone. Although he'd fought plenty of wars from such a very young age, Jake has 'no interest for politics.'

3 Jake Is the Tallest Main Character

Being a soldier demands both mental and physical strength, and for Jake, it's his 6'3" (190 cm) posture that speaks his for quality. To put into perspective, his partner-in-crime, Sherry Birkin, is 5 ft 4 (165 in centimeters), Leon Kennedy is 5 ft 11 in (180 cm), Chris Redfield is 6 ft 1 in (185 cm), Piers Nivans is 5 ft 10 in (178 cm), and Helena Harper is 5 ft 7 in (170 cm).

Jake is also a perfect combatant, skilled in one-on-one, melee, or armed fights.

2 Jake Caught Some Feelings For Sherry Birkin

Being born, raised, and surrounded by a harsh environment, no wonder Jake was such a cold character at first. As the game progressed, he grew a little bit of affection towards his partner, Sherry, proven by the time the two would go the extra mile to save each other and how Jake lowered his demanding price from 50 million dollars to 50 dollars.

Being a son and a daughter of influential villains in Resident Evil is also one reason why the two are a match-made-in-heaven– but did he really catch feelings that bad?

1 Jake's Is Currently MIA

As mentioned above, at the end of Resident Evil 6, Jake lowered his settlement price and possibly returned to his life as a mercenary, maintaining a keen interest in helping people.

His whereabouts are currently unknown, as Jake wasn't featured on Resident Evil 7. However, with Resident Evil Village's release on the horizon, it's safe to expect more to come from Capcom. As this writing, a new update about the upcoming game is set to be released this very month (August 2020).
