With the Resident Evil 3 remake set to launch in April, it's not surprising that Capcom has yet to reveal anything about the rumored Resident Evil 8. However, that hasn't stopped reputable leakers from revealing little bits of information about Resident Evil 8, with one new detail confirmed just recently.

AestheticGamer, a Twitter user known for their accurate Resident Evil leaks, has revealed a new detail about Resident Evil 8. They were asked if Resident Evil 8 will be a VR exclusive, and they confirmed that no, RE8 will not be VR exclusive. This was likely assumed by the vast majority of Resident Evil fans to begin with, but as virtual reality technology continues to grow in popularity, it's certainly possible that there will be a VR-exclusive Resident Evil game at some point down the road.

Even though Resident Evil 8 won't be VR exclusive, that doesn't mean that the game won't use VR technology in some capacity. Previous rumors have suggested that, much like Resident Evil 7Resident Evil 8 will have an optional VR mode for those interested.

Other rumors and supposed "leaks" have claimed to reveal even more about Resident Evil 8. If the rumors are to be believed, Resident Evil 8 will be first-person, also not unlike Resident Evil 7, with wolf-like enemies, and the return of characters Chris Redfield and Ethan Winters. The game will supposedly have a medieval setting, including a castle, and will have a bigger focus on action than RE7.

Speaking of the rumored Resident Evil 8 medieval setting, apparently that will inspire some of the enemy designs. An example given in a previous "leak" says that there will be armored zombies in Resident Evil 8, and some of them will even be armed with swords. This may seem a bit outlandish to some fans, but the Resident Evil series has explored medieval settings before, so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility.

There's also a rumor that Resident Evil 8 will have a twist about Chris Redfield's new appearance. But like all the other Resident Evil 8 rumors, that remains to be seen. Resident Evil fans should take any information about the game with a grain of salt until an official announcement comes from Capcom.

Resident Evil 8 is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.
