Not content with riding on the laurels of the recently released Resident Evil 3 Remake, Capcom is already hard at work on the next entry in the series, Resident Evil 8. While there have been multiple Resident Evil leaks and rumors, plenty are being confirmed and corroborated by many who claim to be a part of the program.

Through the Resident Evil Ambassadors program, Capcom has been reaching out to players to playtest the new game, as well as run the early builds through focus testing. Thanks to some information that has come out of this program, fans have been given some hints at what Resident Evil 8 is going to look like.

According to several people from the Ambassadors program, a number of these rumors may be genuine. One impressive confirmation includes the return of Resident Evil 7's Ethan as the protagonist for Resident Evil 8, with a few alterations to his character after having survived the events of the previous title. Supposedly Ethan has become somewhat more hardened and emulates Ash Williams from the iconic Evil Dead series that inspired a considerable amount of the character's first outing.

Other characters like Mia and Chris Redfield are also returning to Resident Evil 8, although they have both seemingly gone through some changes since the last game. The Ambassadors have reported that as they've tested different demos, multiple models for Chris Redfield have been seen, ranging from an older version of the one that appeared in Resident Evil 7, to a completely new redesign.

However, the changes with Mia and the possible introduction of either pregnancy or new child have raised a few eyebrows among fans and leakers, as the implications of the character giving birth after the events of the previous game could be troubling.

Additionally, the title has also been "confirmed" by Ambassadors, with Resident Evil 8 gaining the subtitle Village, complete with roman numerals inserted into the "V-I-L-L" of the subtitle. While much of this still hasn't been officially confirmed by Capcom, multiple sources have corroborated a number of these rumors. It may be possible that the demo these Ambassadors have been playing will be available soon for the general public, but until then this is news should be taken with a grain of salt, as even if it is true, some of this content may be changed before release.

Resident Evil 3 is rumored to be in development.
