Easily one of the most exciting announcements at the PlayStation 5 reveal event was the unveiling of Resident Evil 8. Taking the franchise in bold and terrifying new directions, Resident Evil 8 succeeded in getting horror fans buzzing about next-generation consoles. There is still a lot about Resident Evil 8 that has yet to be revealed, but fans can get a better idea of what to expect from the game thanks to a reliable leaker.

AestheticGamer accurately leaked many things about Resident Evil 8 and the Resident Evil 3 remake, and so they have much more credibility than many other so-called video game leakers. Fans should still take the information with a grain of salt just because it doesn't come from an official source, but AestheticGamer's track record speaks for itself.

According to AestheticGamer, Resident Evil 8 will address two of Resident Evil 7's biggest criticisms, those being lack of enemy variety and people wanting more areas like the Baker house in the game. It seems that Resident Evil 8 will have more action than RE7, which will allow for a greater variety of enemy types and more enemy encounters, plus it will have more exploration as well.

Resident Evil 8's enemy variety was already on full display in the reveal trailer. It seems that Resident Evil 8 will have werewolves, witches, vampire-like creatures, and other monsters that players will have to contend with throughout the course of the game. Previous rumors have also said that there will be armored zombies in Resident Evil 8, though those creatures have yet to be revealed.

Fans can expect plenty more Resident Evil 8 reveals in the months leading up to its 2021 release. As for when exactly the game will be available next year, AestheticGamer is of the mind that Resident Evil 8's release date is likely to be some time in January of 2021. Complications from the coronavirus pandemic could potentially see the RE8 release date pushed back to February or March of 2021 instead, however.

Capcom itself has yet to make any official announcements about a more specific Resident Evil 8 release date, so fans should hold off on marking their calendars just yet. Even so, both Resident Evil 7 and the Resident Evil 2 remake launched in January, so it's not too outlandish of a launch window.

Resident Evil 8 will launch in 2021 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
