On December 12th, survival-horror fans will have the chance to return to the terrifying world of Resident Evil 7 when Capcom releases brand new DLC for the game. Last week, the company hyped the DLC's release with a recap video detailing the twisted mind of Lucas Baker, reminding fans of all the devious traps he used on them throughout the course of the main game. Now Capcom has released another recap video, this one focused on Lucas's sister, Zoe Baker.

Those that have yet to complete Resident Evil 7 should take note that Capcom's recap video, and by extension this article, will have spoilers. Anyone looking for a refresher course before they jump into the new Resident Evil 7 DLC on December 12th should appreciate the recap video, though, as it puts Zoe's story in chronological order.

The video begins with Zoe living a normal life with her parents at the Baker family plantation. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse, and Zoe has to flee from her murderous mother and father. We then catch glimpses of Zoe helping Ethan survive the ordeal depicted in the main game, which leads to his life-changing decision on the dock.

As those that have completed Resident Evil 7 already know, Ethan has to choose between saving his wife Mia or Zoe at a certain point near the end of the game. According to the video and the upcoming End of Zoe DLC it promotes, the canonical ending is Ethan choosing to save Mia over Zoe. Ethan's decision leads to Zoe wandering around in the swamp until her body crystallizes and she collapses to the ground, only to be saved by a mysterious new character named Joe.

We've seen Joe in previous Resident Evil 7 DLC trailers, but this new video doesn't bring us any closer to knowing anything about him. All we know is that Joe wants to save Zoe, and that he considers her "family." Whether he means this in a literal sense remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to learn more about him once the new Resident Evil 7 DLC releases next month.

Resident Evil 7 is available now for PC, PS4, PlayStation VR, and Xbox One. The End of Zoe DLC will be available on December 12th.
