Several images of pre-order bonuses leak online for Capcom's forthcoming survival horror title Resident Evil 7, revealing some items fans can use in the game.

Several months ago, Capcom's social media specialist Tim Turi detailed Resident Evil 7's Deluxe Edition and some pre-order bonuses for the upcoming horror game, revealing aspects of the DLC known as the Survival Pack that unlocks the hardest difficulty early on in the title. At that point in time, Turi had remained somewhat secretive about the rest of the pre-order parcels, but now it seems as if the developer will have to acknowledge the validity of the other bonus packs' contents for Resident Evil 7, as images for the items may have been unofficially leaked through the Swedish retailer Discshop.

According to the showing on the online merchant's website, Resident Evil 7's pre-order bonuses will offer up four different Survival Packs with the Recovery Set, Handgun Set, Burner Set, and Chem Fluid Set. Of course, since Capcom has yet to publicly recognize or announce these packages, nothing has truly been confirmed. Nevertheless, they seem to be legitimate, as some include classic items from the series such as the green medicinal herbs in the Recovery Set, and red boxes of ammunition in the Handgun Set.

Furthermore, as seen in the images below, the potential Chem Fluid Set for Resident Evil 7 appears to have a type of healing object, while the Burner Set could possibly work with the flamethrower that was previously revealed in the ESRB's rating for the game, which also provided illuminating story details. Plus, each of the sets are pictured with different types and sizes of coins, with some colored silver and others depicted as copper, bronze, and gold. Currently, there's no telling whether or not this indicates that Resident Evil 7 will have a currency system, or if the coins could be used for enigmatic puzzle-solving purposes similar to the dummy finger, axe, and ghost girl in the game's demo.

While it's simply conjecture, the most likely explanation for the coins in the Resident Evil 7 Survival Packs is that Capcom will be including a kind of in-game economy. After all, it isn't as if the studio hasn't incorporated an items and weapons distributor in the series' past. As a matter of fact, one of the more popular features of Resident Evil 4 — what many rank at the top of the best games in the series — had a recurring salesman known plainly as the "Merchant" from whom players could buy and trade items, weapons, and ammo.

Whatever the case may be regarding the coins, all of the leaked items in the Resident Evil 7 packs seem to further point to a return to the franchise's survival-horror roots, as the weaponry and objects don't evidence the more action-driven elements and guns found in RE 4, 5, and 6. Not to mention, with the developers recently teasing the game's zombies as being reminiscent of enemies from earlier titles, fans can hopefully rest comfortably in Resident Evil 7's potential return to form.

Resident Evil 7 is set for launch on January 24, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, and Xbox One.
