For players that want to add a bit of explosive fun to Resident Evil 7, there's the grenade launcher, an easy-to-find weapon with limited ammo but a lot of punch.

As most people who have been playing Resident Evil 7 know, the monsters in this game are tough and have a tendency to overwhelm. Though there are several ways to deal with this problem, from good old-fashioned shotgun blasts to just burning everything to a crisp with a flamethrower, this guide is going to assume that players want a long-distance explosive option to blow monsters to bits. Here's where the grenade launcher comes in handy.

The grenade launcher is a mid-game weapon that's fairly easy to find, it's not the happy-birthday tape mystery by any means. It does, however, require some backtracking which makes it easy to overlook. Though it can be annoying to have to head back the way you came, having the weapon means you can more less or insta-gib many Resident Evil 7 monsters. Be warned, though, that shooting it with any kind of accuracy takes a bit of practice and ammo can be tough to find.

There is no way to get to the grenade launcher until you have collected the three dog heads, gone through the yard, and explored the old house: players need to get hold of the crow key before being able to add some boom to their arsenal. Once the key has been retrieved, but before moving forward with the story, players should take the key back to the main house and go into the drawing room (the room with the stuffed stag).

The first time players entered this room they couldn't unlock the crow door leading to the room labelled "supplies," but now it can finally be opened with the crow key (for extra reference, it's the door with the Mr. Everywhere in the alcove). Right after the door is pushed open, players can see the grenade launcher resting on some boxes in front of them in all its explosive glory.

The temptation may be to pick it up and run out blowing stuff to pieces, but before doing so, make sure to check the room thoroughly: there are some pretty useful supplies here, including some flame rounds for the new weapon. That's really all there is to it: unlike the Magnum there are no enemies to beat or anything, all players need to do for that extra bit of punch is walk back the way they came.
