Video game developer Capcom teams up with the Los Angeles production company iam8bit to create a Resident Evil 7 escape room experience for Halloween.

As if Resident Evil 7 on PlayStation VR isn't going to be frightening enough, Capcom has decided to immerse fans of the classic survival horror franchise in a real world setting inspired by all of the games in the series. As it happens, the publisher and developer has now announced its partnership with the Los Angeles production company known as iam8bit to create an actual escape room experience to not only promote the forthcoming release of Resident Evil 7 and the series' 20th year anniversary, but also to celebrate Halloween.

According to the Resident Evil escape room's page on EventBrite, the experience is set to include "some obvious and some not so obvious nods to various Resident Evil games," including, but not limited to the upcoming seventh installment in the franchise. A single ticket is priced at $35, and the companies are allowing fans to have teams of up to six people.

Although the Resident Evil escape room experience doesn't clearly list an age limit, the event  recommends attendees being at least 17 years old. After all, Resident Evil 7 and the majority of the games in the franchise — if not all of them — have received a solid ESRB rating of "M" for Mature due to the titles' often horrific and graphic nature.

Those who wish to attend the Resident Evil escape room event will be able to do so from October 20 through November 6 in Los Angeles, California. Fans can learn more about the event, buy tickets, and sign up for scheduled appointments right here. It must be mentioned, though, that people paying to take part will need to be punctual, as iam8bit suggests for folks to show up 15 minutes beforehand, for the experience starts right on time and will not be offering any refunds.

In addition to the escape room, iam8bit and Capcom have also collaborated to display a gallery full of art centered around the entirety of the Resident Evil series that will be at the event. Perhaps even more excitingly is the chance for fans to pick up various prints and other merchandise, as memorabilia will be available to buy at the experience's location.

Beyond the Resident Evil escape room event, Capcom is still doing a great job at slowly eking out information about the seventh entry in the series, as the studio just recently put out a teaser trailer potentially featuring a familiar character from the franchise's past. Of course, with the Resident Evil 7 creators having been so cryptic with the game's Beginning Hour demo, as well as with all of its promotional materials, there's certainly a lot of mysteries to unpack. With that being the case, fans can catch up and potentially help solve all of the enigmatic content officially put out for Resident Evil 7 by checking out everything we know so far.

Resident Evil 7 is set to release on January 24, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, and Xbox One.
