After months of radio silence, Capcom has finally broke some news about when fans can expect more content for Resident Evil 7. Launching alongside the game's Gold Edition on December 12th are two expansions: Not A Hero starring Chris Redfield and End of Zoe, where players will take on the role of Zoe Baker.

Capcom revealed additional details about the upcoming Resident Evil 7 expansions besides just their release dates. Not A Hero will be released for free for all Resident Evil 7 players on December 12th, and will put players in the boots of franchise hero Chris Redfield. We now know that Not A Hero will take place after the events of the base game, with Chris exploring the caverns beneath the Baker family mansion.

In terms of gameplay, Not A Hero should be a little more action-packed than the base game, considering Chris's extensive background with battling monsters. Speaking of monsters, Not A Hero will also introduce a brand new enemy type, though details on what it is exactly are unavailable at this time.

While fans wait for more information on that front, they can check out a fresh gallery of concept art and screenshots released by Capcom:

While the Not A Hero expansion will be free, the new expansion announced today, End of Zoe, will be a separate purchase. Having said that, season pass holders will be able to download it for no extra charge, which is a nice surprise from Capcom, a company that is often criticized for its DLC practices.

Not much is known about End of Zoe at this time, except that it will star Zoe Baker and like Not A Hero, it will take place after the events of the base game's story. We know by the lone screenshot Capcom has released of the DLC that it will still be set in the swamps of Louisiana, and should provide some creepy new areas for players to explore.

Resident Evil 7 is available now for PC, PS4, PlayStation VR, and Xbox One.
