Shinji Mikami, known as the director of the original Resident Evil 4, has played the remake and has good things to say about the experience. Mikami is perhaps the biggest name associated with Resident Evil 4, so his opinion counts a lot to most gamers.Released back in March, the Resident Evil 4 remake is already one of the best games of the year. Not only does the title stick with the best parts of the original game, but it also improved it in many areas, such as offering far more dynamic combat than the 2005 version with more melee options. Other new aspects of the remake include puzzles and side quests which were not previously featured in the original version. Despite not participating in the development of the remake, Shinji Mikami was behind the creation of the original Resident Evil in 1996 and acted as the director of the previous version of Resident Evil 4, which puts him in a unique position to offer an honest opinion about the game.RELATED: Resident Evil 4 Glitch Gives Leon a Stupid Amount of RocketsThe famous creator of the Resident Evil series Shinji Mikami had a pretty good experience with Capcom’s latest remake. In his Twitter profile, Mikami affirms that he just cleared the game and that he enjoyed the experience “very much,” showing a scene of the game’s last cutscene on his TV.

Resident Evil 4 is perhaps Mikami’s best game, together with the first Resident Evil. So people were pretty thrilled with his comments on social media. One user called CynicalGuy77, for instance, told Mikami that he “made history with the original” and that the remake would never have seen the light of day without his legendary work. RyanWatcher2001 was another gamer who was excited by the tweet. They said that the best way to know the remake was truly excellent is to get the seal of approval from the man who directed the first game himself.

Up until recently, Shinji Mikami was working as the founder and CEO of Tango Gameworks, which just released Hi-Fi Rush, one of the most successful games on Xbox Game Pass. However, Mikami recently announced that he would leave the company, which he founded back in 2010. At the moment, is not yet clear where Mikami is going to work next, but regardless of that, his legacy will live on in the Resident Evil franchise and in the games he created after leaving Capcom, such as The Evil Within.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
