Physical copies for Resident Evil 4 have been spotted by a ResetEra user almost two weeks ahead of the game's launch. Hype for Resident Evil 4's much anticipated remake has reached an all-time high, with the game only looking better each time Capcom has showcased it. The wait for the game's launch might have just gotten a whole lot harder, however, as images have begun to circulate showing that some retailers have received their copies of the game over two weeks in advance of its release. In June 2022, Capcom announced Resident Evil 4, a remake of the beloved 2005 Nintendo GameCube title that helped define modern action games with its implementation of a third-person, over the shoulder camera system during combat. The remake follows the tradition set up by the recent remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, reimagining the beloved title as a modern, AAA game, taking influence from gameplay innovations from the recent mainline Resident Evil games while also pushing the series forward with new mechanics and features.RELATED: Some Resident Evil 4 Collector's Edition Pre-Orders Are Mysteriously CanceledAs the remake's release quickly approaches, Capcom has been showcasing much more of the game with lengthy gameplay videos and trailers revealing some more information on the remake's story changes to Resident Evil 4. With a demo expected to release after the upcoming Capcom Spotlight Showcase, the game feels closer than ever, however, ResetEra user Blackbird has now spotted physical copies for Resident Evil 4 in the wild, indicating that the game is already in some stores ahead of its March 24th release.

While no copies of Resident Evil 4 have reportedly been bought or played yet, images like this appearing online indicate that spoilers are likely to begin appearing in the days to follow. While Resident Evil 4 is a remake, there is still a likelihood that it will deviate from the original RE4's storyline, as hinted at in some of the trailers, meaning that even veterans of the original RE4 might not be safe from spoilers appearing online approaching the game's launch.

While this makes the wait for Resident Evil 4 all the more painstaking, as previously mentioned a leak has implied that a demo is expected to arrive following the Capcom Spotlight Showcase, which could help make the wait a little less frustrating. That said, Resident Evil 4 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, so fans should be cautious of potential spoilers regardless of if any copies are sold ahead of launch and if they've played the original game.

Resident Evil 4 will release on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 24th 2023.
