Even before the remake of Resident Evil 4 was released, the modding community had been keeping itself busy, and now there's a mod for the game that supports Nvidia's DLSS upscaling technology. Currently, the gaming industry is in the midst of a remake and remaster frenzy. While some of them feel unnecessary or don't quite hit the mark, there are more than a few that do the original source material proud, and the RE name is just one example of this.

Now that the full game is out, fans will get to see what changes have been made in the Resident Evil 4 remake when compared to the original classic release. While it seems as though it will appeal to those looking for a dose of nostalgia, Capcom has a knack for truly modernizing the titles in its influential survival horror series. Of course, there's always room for improvement, and modders have not wasted any time in making sure people can get the most out of RE4.

As spotted by DSO Gaming, there's already a way to make the Resident Evil 4 remake look even more fantastic, thanks to a mod that supports even more upscaling. A video posted to the McBenchmarkPC YouTube channel shows it in action, comparing Native TAA and AMD's FSR 2.1 tech to version 3.1 of Nvidia's DLSS algorithm. The graphical purists who play games will notice a difference, with the upscaler helping to fine tune the visuals. The video shows how the game is able to run at 1440p on max settings. The "Reframework" modification comes from Nexus Mods user praydog, though anyone interested will need a few more files to get DLSS working in RE4, which are specified in the mod description.

Leading up to the game's release, some fans had been spending their time modding the Resident Evil 4 demo. Everything from changing Leon Kennedy's outfit to opening up areas to explore that aren't officially accessible to making this small slice of the full game exceedingly difficult have surfaced since the "Chainsaw Demo" became available. Now that RE4 is out, gamers can expect to see a lot more mods.

While it's not the scariest Resident Evil game around, the original fourth entry is considered by many to be the superior game in the series. It switched up the formula set by the previous three installments by implementing a more dynamic camera angle and leaning towards more bombastic action than horror. Such a change elevated it to iconic status, and now fans finally get to play this reimagined version of it, with upscaling as well if they want.

Resident Evil 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
