As players make their way through the Resident Evil 4 Remake, they'll eventually end up in a small factory. After escaping the area, Leon will come face-to-face with the enigmatic Merchant, an NPC that seems to show up in the strangest of places and always has valuable items and weapons for the hero to purchase. Leon will be able to purchase new gear and upgrades with the Pesetas he loots from containers and fallen enemies, but the Merchant also offers rare items in exchange for a different currency, called Spinels.

Spinels are special pink gemstones that are different from the gems that Leon can use to increase the value of certain treasures. By gathering Spinels, Leon can nab some of the most useful tools in the game. Here's a look at where to find this special currency in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Spinels are incredibly useful as they give players access to rarer items and useful materials from the Merchant. In the Trade tab of the shop, players will be able to turn in Spinels for a variety of goods including Yellow Herbs, Crafting Resources, and Gunpowder. They can also grab certain weapon upgrades like scopes and laser sights.

The Merchant will also offer Treasure Maps that players can purchase with Spinels. Buying a Treasure Map for a specific area will automatically mark Leon's map with treasure icons, making it much easier for the hero to find valuables to sell, including more Spinels.

How To Get Spinel In The Resident Evil 4 Remake

Thankfully, Spinels can be found organically throughout Leon's adventure and can sometimes drop from certain enemies or be found within containers and chests. Diligent players that search every nook and cranny and eliminate enemies will likely find a good chunk of Spinel as they progress through each area. Thankfully, players can also amass large amounts of spinel by taking on the Blue Requests littered throughout Leon's journey.

Players should be able to easily spot these requests as they are posted in plain sight on bright blue paper. Picking one up will automatically start the request, giving players a task to complete and showing how many Spinels they'll receive as a reward. These requests vary in each area, with some having players track down hidden items, eliminate pests, or even catch fish. Once players have completed a request, they can head to the Merchant to receive their Spinels.
