The very first thing announced at the latest PlayStation State of Play event was the Resident Evil 4 remake, revealed with a spooky, atmospheric trailer that showcased familiar locations and characters, but with an overall darker tone than was present in the original version of the game. More information on the Resident Evil 4 remake has come to light since the game's reveal, particularly when it comes to the cast.

For example, it was confirmed shortly after the Resident Evil 4 remake was revealed that Leon actor Matthew Mercer won't be playing the role in the new game. Mercer previously voiced Leon in Resident Evil 6 as well as some of the CG animated movies. Nick Apostolides played Leon in the Resident Evil 2 remake, though it has yet to be clarified if he will be playing the character in the Resident Evil 4 remake or not.

In the meantime, some information on Ashley Graham in the Resident Evil 4 remake has come to light. It's been confirmed that Dutch model Ella Freya is the model for Ashley in the Resident Evil 4 remake. It's unconfirmed if Freya's involvement extends to her actually voicing Ashley in the game or not, as Capcom has not revealed all the casting details when it comes to the new game. It's not uncommon for games to use models when designing characters and then have someone else completely perform the voice acting and motion capture work, so Resident Evil fans should keep that in mind.

As far as Ashley's role in the Resident Evil 4 remake goes, it appears as though she will be filling a very similar role to the one she has in the original release. For the uninitiated, Ashley is the president's daughter, and she's been kidnapped by cultists. Leon S. Kennedy is sent in to save Ashley from her captors, and after finding her, he then has to escort her to safety.

Ashley is seen briefly in the Resident Evil 4 remake trailer, running through the woods and looking scared. She has a somewhat similar attire as the one she wore in the original game, but it looks more modernized, and she's wearing a jacket. Leon also has a photograph of Ashley that he looks at while being transported to the location where she disappeared, giving fans a closer look at how Ashley will appear in the new game.

With the Resident Evil 4 remake release date already announced, fans should expect more information on it to come at a regular pace between now and next March.

Resident Evil 4 launches March 24, 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
