The original Resident Evil games were known for their use of fixed camera angles, which were used to great effect by the franchise's development team to create an eerie atmosphere and strategically placed jump scares. More recent games in the series have moved away from fixed camera angles to over-the-shoulder perspectives, which is true for the recently released Resident Evil 3 remake. However, one fan has used photo mode to show what the game would look like with fixed camera angles.

Twitter user Suzi has shared images online of what the Resident Evil 3 remake would look like with a fixed camera, mimicking some of the fixed camera shots from the original Resident Evil 3. The images are all rather stunning, and it goes to show that even if the Resident Evil 3 remake used a fixed camera as opposed to its over-the-shoulder camera, it still would have been quite impressive from a graphics standpoint.

In future, it will be interesting to see if Capcom ever releases another Resident Evil game with a fixed camera. Perhaps it could be convinced to do so if it ever decides to move forward with a smaller scale Resident Evil spin-off game. After all, Capcom has been known to experiment with camera angles and perspectives with the Resident Evil franchise, and there's no sign that it's going to stop any time soon.

In fact, the upcoming Resident Evil 8 is rumored to be first-person, marking only the second main series Resident Evil game to go that route. Previously, Resident Evil 7 used a first-person view to great effect, ratcheting up the scares significantly while still delivering gameplay that was distinctly Resident Evil.

However, the upcoming Resident Evil 8 may actually be quite the departure from the series beyond just its use of a first-person camera. Rumors are that Resident Evil 8 will have armored zombies, a medieval setting, hallucinations, and more supernatural elements than other games in the series. None of that has been confirmed by Capcom, but if a Resident Evil 8 reveal is happening this year as leakers have claimed, then fans should find out more sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, fans can check out the Resident Evil 3 remake fixed camera photos while they continue blazing through Raccoon City in their quest to fully complete the game and unlock all of the achievements/trophies.

Resident Evil 3 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
