Capcom's Resident Evil franchise is hotter than ever now, with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and the remakes for the first two Resident Evil games receiving tons of praise from fans and critics alike. Now fans are eagerly waiting for news on the Resident Evil 3 remake, which was confirmed just a month ago thanks to some leaked artwork.

There are quite a few things we already know about the Resident Evil 3 remake, and now it seems a new detail about the upcoming survival horror game has been revealed. The file size for Resident Evil 3 will be 43.01 GB and will contain both the main game and the Resistance multiplayer mode as separate downloads.

With the Resident Evil 3 remake just four months away from release, it's reassuring to hear Capcom say that development on the game is nearly complete. Microsoft's store page listing the full size of the game as 43.01 GB is just further proof of that. It's strange that the campaign and the new multiplayer mode Resident Evil Resistance have been divided into separate downloads, though. Since both games are part of the same bundle, it doesn't seem they can be bought separately.

The campaign's file size is 21.93 GB, about the same size as the Resident Evil 2 remake when it launched. Resident Evil Resistance takes up about 20.47 GB of storage space. While the PC system requirements for the Resident Evil 3 remake have already been revealed, the file size on the PC and PS4 have not. It's safe to assume, though, that Resident Evil 3's file size will be about the same on those platforms as well.

A limited edition version of the game called the Resident Evil 3 Remake Collector's Edition is already available for pre-order at GameStop. The Collector's Edition comes with a physical copy of the game, an artbook, an 11-inch Jill Valentine figure, a map of Raccoon City and the digital soundtrack, all packaged inside a S.T.A.R.S item box. The Collector's Edition is available for USD $179.99 and unfortunately is not available for PC players. Fans who aren't happy with the changes made to some characters in the Resident Evil 3 remake will want to pre-order to receive the exclusive Classic Costume Pack, which will feature the original design for Jill as well as Carlos Oliveira's original hairstyle.

The original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis launched back in 1999 for the first PlayStation and is set 24 hours before the events of Resident Evil 2, with the second half of the game taking place 2 days after that. This remake will follow the same winning formula that made the Resident Evil 2 remake a success, including use of the RE Engine and the ability to actually move the camera around. And given that the Resident Evil 3 remake is much more action-oriented than the original, it only makes sense that it will be bundled with a new online multiplayer mode, Resident Evil: Resistance. This multiplayer mode will be an asymmetrical co-op in which players must survive against a "mastermind."

The Resident Evil 3 remake will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on April 3rd, 2020.
