Today, Resident Evil fans would finally be able to get a taste of Resident Evil 3 remake now that Capcom has fulfilled its promise several days ago and finally released a playable demo for the upcoming game worldwide. The good news about the latest demo is that unlike the preview of Resident Evil 2 remake that imposed a strict 30-minute time limit, the demo for Resident Evil 3 has no restrictions and players can replay the preview as many times as they want.

Unsurprisingly, Resident Evil 3's demo featured protagonist Jill Valentine, which gave players a closer look at the character's revamped appearance and a slight change in personality. Moreover, other characters such as Carlos Oliveria and Mikhail Viktor were featured in the demo, and the preview's opening cut-scene featured clips that we have already seen in previous trailers and gameplay footage. Additionally, the playable demo runs about half an hour on average, and players are tasked with a single objective, which is to reach Raccoon City Subway's Substation.

Upon reaching the end of the demo, players will encounter a handful of surprises, which includes a brand new trailer to tease fans on the upcoming game. The latest trailer runs short at less than a minute and features other characters such as Nikolai Ginovaef, Brad Vickers, Dario Rosso, which have all been featured in past trailers. Interestingly enough, the latest preview also confirmed the appearances of a couple of Resident Evil 2 characters, which includes gun shop owner Robert Kendo and police officer Marvin Branagh.

The appearance of both characters makes sense when looking at the established timeline of Resident Evil 2 and 3. To the uninitiated, the first half of Resident Evil 3 takes place a day before Leon and Claire entered Raccoon City, and the second part occurred after the events of Resident Evil 2. In the trailer, Jill encountered Robert Kendo in an alleyway in Raccoon City and the two even had a brief conversation with Jill asking Kendo if he's alright. Of course, veteran Resident Evil fans would know that Jill and Kendo are familiar with one another given that the latter supplies the standard-issue handguns to RPD's STARS, where Jill is a member. Moreover Capcom updated Resident Evil 2 so Leon could find a letter from Jill that is addressed to Kendo.

Additionally, the latest trailer also showed Marvin Branagh briefly, and fans who have played the original Resident Evil 3 would know that Marvin also appeared in the original game but was unconscious when Jill found him. It is currently unclear what Marvin's role in Resident Evil 3 will be, but it is likely that Jill will encounter him inside the Raccoon City Police Department, and may even show the events why he was severely wounded when Leon Kennedy found him in Resident Evil 2 remake.

Resident Evil 3 releases on April 3, 2020, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
