Resident Evil 3 remake is without a doubt one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2020. Several days ago, Capcom released a playable demo that revealed tons of information on what players can expect in the forthcoming re-imagining of Jill Valentine's escape from the doomed Raccoon City. Now, with Resident Evil 3 merely days away from release, it appears that the opening cutscene of the game has been leaked online. A fair warning to readers that while the footage is unconfirmed, it may contain spoilers for Resident Evil 3 remake.

The leaked footage was tweeted by Twitter user AestheticGamer who clarified in a now-deleted post that they were not the actual source of the leak. The alleged leaked footage, which was posted in Dailymotion, has already been taken down and appears to have disappeared permanently online. It is currently unclear whether the leaked video that circulated the internet briefly is legit. However, it appears to be the real deal given that it showed footage from the game that has not been revealed in any of the previous trailers, previews, and even the playable demo.

The alleged cutscene opened with a montage of news reports that are centered around the growing threat of the T-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City. It then transitioned to the Umbrella laboratory where several researchers are seen making the final preparations for the launch of Umbrella's latest creation, Nemesis. However, the most interesting part of the alleged opening cut-scene is when it transitioned to Jill Valentine that is seen from a first-person perspective.

The footage showed Jill Valentine waking up in her apartment, and at this point, the player is given control of the character. Still, in the first-person perspective, the player briefly explored Jill's apartment before heading into the bathroom where she saw her reflection slowly turning into a zombie. Fans would remember a snippet of this scene from Resident Evil 3's initial trailer, however, the cut-scene then made a dark turn when Jill picked up her gun, pointed it to her head, and pulled the trigger. Upon hearing a gunshot, the cut-scene showed Jill back in her bed, signifying that the bathroom scene is all but a dream.

Again, while the leaked footage appears legit, there is no sure way of knowing whether it is real until players see the opening cut-scene for themselves. Luckily, Resident Evil 3 remake is out in a few days, and the playable demo, which contains tons of easter eggs, is available to download right now.

Resident Evil 3 is set to release on April 3, 2020, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
