The PlayStation Store's deal of the week is currently offering a huge discount on Capcom's 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3. To those unfamiliar with the original game released in 1999, Resident Evil 3 revolves around the story of Jill Valentine's escape from the zombie-infested Raccoon City as she is being stalked by Umbrella's latest BOW, Nemesis.

Now, players who still haven't experienced the latest remake of Resident Evil 3 will be interested to know that the game is currently priced at the PlayStation Store for $29.99, which is 50% off its original price of $59.99. However, it is worth mentioning that players who purchase Resident Evil 3 will also be able to access Resident Evil Resistance, which is a 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer game that puts players in the role of either The Survivors, who must survive each level under a time limit, or The Mastermind, who must ensure that none of the survivors will be able to leave alive.

Additionally, the PlayStation Store is also offering Resident Evil: Raccoon City Edition, which is a special bundle that includes both Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 2 remakes. The special bundle is available for $44.79, which is 44% off its original price of $79.99. Of course, Resident Evil fans who want to experience the story of Raccoon City should consider this bundle and relive the horrors of both classic games. Lastly, players should know that both deals will only be available on the PlayStation Store until September 17th, so those interested should act now while the discounts are still available.

At the moment, Capcom is currently busy developing Resident Evil 8, which is the upcoming latest installment to the survival-horror franchise. Resident Evil 8 was first announced at Sony's huge PS5 event a few months ago and will see the return of Ethan Winters and Chris Redfield after the events of Resident Evil 7. Although no specific release date has been revealed, Resident Evil 8 is scheduled to release sometime in 2021 for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.

As for which Resident Evil game Capcom plans to remake next, the Japanese developer and publisher still hasn't released any information on the matter. However, notable leakers claim that Resident Evil 4 will be Capcom's next remake, ut while the notion of RE4 Remake is extremely likely, fans shouldn't get their hopes up until Capcom makes an official announcement. Nonetheless, if RE4 will truly be the next Resident Evil remake, then it stands to be the best one yet, given Capcom's vast experience with the remakes of Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3.

Resident Evil 3 is out now for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
