A couple of days ago, Capcom finally confirmed the highly-requested remake of Resident Evil 3 at Sony's State of Play. Along with the announcement Capcom also released the first-ever trailer for the game and revealed its release date, which falls on April 3, 2020, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The official unveiling of Resident Evil 3 also marked the start of the pre-orders for the game, where players can already order the game ahead of its release for $59.99 for the standard edition. As always, Capcom will be rewarding players who pre-order Resident Evil 3 with the Classic Costume DLC-Pack, which will allow players to change Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveria's outfits to their original counterparts from the 1999 game. However, PS4 owners would be happy to know that the PlayStation Store is offering another bonus item on top of the costume pack, in the form of a special theme for the PS4.

The theme features Resident Evil 3's official artwork, which showcases protagonists Jill and Carlos alongside the terrifying tyrant Nemesis front and center. The special theme also includes a unique soundtrack, which appears to be the game's official music. The soundtrack a unique sound, though it bears a slight resemblance to the music of the original game. The best part about the PlayStation Store's pre-order bonus is that players would be able to download the theme upon completion of the pre-order. Apart from the standard edition, Game Stop is also offering a store exclusive Collector's Edition for Resident Evil 3. This special edition of Resident Evil 3 includes the standard edition, a Jill Valentine statue, a physical map of Raccoon City, a digital soundtrack and an art book, and a special box. GameStop's Resident Evil 3 Remake Collector's Edition is available for $179.

Meanwhile, Resident Evil 3's first official trailer confirmed the character designs that were leaked last week. However, controversy soon surrounded the design of Nemesis that did not sit well with some players. Although the tyrant's appearance resembles his original design in some aspects, the particular feature that sparked criticism is the Nemesis' nose, which was not present in the original game, and other titles that featured the monster. It is currently unclear whether Capcom would be changing the design of Nemesis, but this will probably be confirmed once the studio releases a full gameplay preview that would feature Nemesis up close.

Resident Evil 3  is set to release on April 3, 2020, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
