The Resident Evil 3 remake demo is out now, giving fans the chance to sample the upcoming survival-horror game a bit early. Fans have been thoroughly exploring the Resident Evil 3 remake demo for clues and easter eggs, and so far a couple of rather interesting ones have been found.

As expected, the Resident Evil 3 remake contains references to other Capcom games. This includes a nod to Capcom's Mega Man franchise in the form of a poster that's found at the subway station. The poster depicts two scientists who are clearly meant to represent Dr. Wily and Dr. Light from Mega Man, with the caption: "Will robots surpass humanity?"

This is far from the only easter egg that Resident Evil 3 fans have discovered in the demo so far. Another poster found elsewhere in the demo is advertising a fictional movie called Disaster. Fans noticed that the artwork on the poster greatly resembles Resident Evil 6 art, and some have taken it as Capcom joking about the poor reception to the game.

Besides hunting for easter eggs, there are other reasons for Resident Evil 3 fans to play the demo. It will give them a good idea of what to expect for the full release in a couple of weeks, plus completing it unlocks a special trailer. The Resident Evil 3 trailer that players unlock upon completing the demo confirms the return of a couple of minor characters from Resident Evil 2 who are expected to have expanded roles in the new game.

In the meantime, Resident Evil fans will have a chance to try out more than just the Resident Evil 3 story prior to the game's April 3 launch. Capcom has confirmed that the Resident Evil: Resistance multiplayer mode will have an open beta beginning March 27. An end date for the Resident Evil: Resistance beta has yet to be announced, but in any case, it should let fans know if the multiplayer will compelling enough to influence their purchasing decision.

With or without multiplayer, the Resident Evil 3 remake is bringing a lot to the table and should earn strong praise from critics like the Resident Evil 2 remake did back in 2019. April 3 is almost upon us, so fans won't have to wait much longer to find out if the Resident Evil 3 remake lives up to the hype.

Resident Evil 3 launches on April 3 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
