The big announcement of PlayStation's State of Play presentation, Sony's final big event of 2019, was exactly the game that's been heavily rumored over the past week. Capcom joined the State of Play to reveal Resident Evil 3, with the remake coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 3, 2020. Alongside the announcement and a new trailer, Capcom put out some other key launch information, too, including Resident Evil 3's pricey $179.99 Collector's Edition with a giant Jill Valentine figure.

Resident Evil 3's Collector's Edition is built around its Jill Valentine figure. The statue is 11" tall and features the new design of Jill Valentine for the remake, as well as a base featuring the S.T.A.R.S. Raccoon City badge logo. It's a modern take on Jill's classic look with her blue shirt gunbelts, leg holster, and pistol. Another cool detail is that the Jill Valentine figure was designed to be similar to the Resident Evil 2 remake's Leon statue released with that game's collector's edition.

The Jill Valentine statue isn't the only awesome collectible in Resident Evil 3's collector's edition, however. It also comes with a Raccoon City Double-Sided Map, a Digital Double Album Soundtrack, a Collector's Artbook, and a S.T.A.R.S. Item Box for its upgraded packaging. The collector's edition also comes with a standard edition copy of the game, naturally, for the buyer's preferred platform.

In addition to all of its collector's edition content, the Resident Evil 3 collector's edition can also include some digital content so long as buyers pre-order. Resident Evil 3's pre-order bonus is designed to capitalize on players' nostalgia. It's a Capcom Classic Costume Pack and includes two classic skins for Resident Evil 3's two biggest heroes. There's a classic Jill Valentine skin, naturally. The second skin is for surviving Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service member Carlos Oliveira. They're designed for peak 90s nostalgia.

With only four months left until the Resident Evil 3 remake's launch, fans should get their pre-orders in as they're able. Collector's editions, particularly expensive ones like Resident Evil 3's $179.99 box, are often limited in quantity and end up having some retailers cancel excess orders. It was at least kind of Capcom to announce its game just a matter of months before launch so even if fans do put down some money for an expensive collector's edition, they won't have to wait too long to receive it.
