Last month, the most popular Internet meme was undoubtedly Shaggy Rogers from Scooby-Doo, and his apparent God-like powers that made him the most powerful being in the entire universe. This meme saw Shaggy become the most popular the character has ever been, with people going as far as to make petitions for him to be added to Mortal Kombat 11. While Shaggy has yet to be added to any new games in an official capacity, fans have taken matters into their own hands to mod Shaggy into Capcom's Resident Evil 2.

BeastGamingHD has uploaded a video of the Shaggy mod in Resident Evil 2, which appears to replace Claire Redfield with Shaggy. The mod includes voice clips for Shaggy, so it's one of the more comprehensive Resident Evil 2 mods that we've seen. And in an effort to make things fairer for Resident Evil 2's monsters, the modder has also increased the number of Mr. X tyrants in the game from just one to a staggering 10.

Being chased around the Raccoon City Police Department by one Mr. X is terrifying, but when there's 10 of them, it's just comical. And seeing Shaggy from Scooby-Doo blow them up and shoot them is hilarious.

Since Resident Evil 2's launch, there have been plenty of other mods released for the critically-acclaimed survival-horror game. One of the more recent ones also replaces Claire, putting the superhero Captain Marvel in her place. The Captain Marvel mod is far less comprehensive than the Shaggy mod, though, as it doesn't include voice lines or any of her trademark powers.

Other mods focus on changing the enemies in Resident Evil 2 instead of the playable characters. For example, there's a mod that converts all of the zombies to tofu, and another mod that swaps Mr. X for Thomas the Train. Whereas 10 Mr. X tyrants make the character more amusing than frightening, turning him into Thomas the Train arguably makes him even scarier than usual.

It seems that the mods for Resident Evil 2 keep coming, and it will be interesting to see what other ridiculous mods the community dreams up in the future.

Resident Evil is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
