Resident Evil 2 is a game built for players to replay it multiple times, as they're are rewarded with new story cut-scenes as well as a variety of unlockables. In Resident Evil 2, players can unlock special weapons, new game modes, costumes, and more, so taking the time to get all of the unlockables is definitely worth the trouble.

Here is how to get all of the unlockables in the Resident Evil 2 remake.

Costumes

Just like past Resident Evil games, Resident Evil 2 features a variety of costumes that players can unlock. In-game, players are able to unlock both the Alternative Claire and Alternative Leon costumes, which are based on the characters' outfits in the original game, by beating an initial playthrough and then a 2nd Run.

After beating Resident Evil 2 with one character, players will unlock the opposite character's B scenario in the 2nd Run. So for example, beating Leon A unlocks Claire B, and vice versa. Unfortunately, there aren't any similar methods to unlocking the rest of the costumes in the game, as those can only be accessed by those who've purchased the Deluxe Edition.

With that in mind, here is a list of all the alternative costumes in Resident Evil 2, including the ones that are exclusive to the game's Deluxe Edition.

  • Alternative Claire
  • Alternative Leon
  • Arklay Sheriff Leon
  • Eliza Walker Claire
  • Military Claire
  • Noir Claire
  • Noir Leon

Game Modes

In Resident Evil 2, there are two bonus modes that players can unlock. The first is called The 4th Survivor, and it stars Umbrella operative HUNK as the playable character in a timed mission. For anyone wanting to unlock The 4th Survivor mode, all that has to be done is completing an A and B scenario. So players should unlock The 4th Survivor on their quest to get all of the unlockable costumes.

After players have unlocked The 4th Survivor, the second bonus mode they can unlock is Tofu Mode. Tofu Mode is similar to The 4th Survivor, but with a walking, sentient chunk of tofu in the starring role instead. To unlock Tofu Mode in Resident Evil 2, players have to beat The 4th Survivor mode, which will be easier said than done.
