Capcom's latest remake of the beloved survival-horror title Resident Evil 2, was an instant hit among veteran players and newcomers to the long-standing franchise. While all eyes are on Capcom on whether it will remake the third game in the series, the publisher and developer previously stated that Resident Evil 3 is possible if fans demand it.

Now as we wait for an official confirmation of Resident Evil 3 remake, modders once again took matters into their own hands and created a mod that puts the spotlight once again to series veteran Jill Valentine, and her horrific escape from the iconic villain Nemesis. A mod replaces the character model of Claire Redfield with Jill Valentine (created by EvilLord), and Mr. X with Nemesis (created by Zero).

Although a Nemesis mod already exists in the remake, this one from the modder Zero actually replaced Mr. X with a Nemesis character model, rather than using his Super Tyrant version. Furthermore, each time the player encounters the S.T.A.R.S. hunter, players would hear the original Nemesis soundtrack that brings back horrific memories from the 1999 game.

Of course, the RE3 mod would not be complete without the original game's heroine. The mod from EvilLord showcases a redesigned character model of Claire Redfield, sporting Jill Valentine's iconic outfit and hairdo. Fans of Jill Valentine would surely be happy to see her once again.

Given that Resident Evil 3 also takes place in Raccoon City, the character mods placed against the backdrop of the Resident Evil 2 remake provides players a pretty clear picture of what RE3 remake would look like if Capcom decides to make it. This mod is not the first time that Claire Redfield's character model was replaced in Resident Evil 2.

Several days ago, a modder swapped out Claire that brought about an unofficial cameo of Captain Marvel, whose movie recently hit theaters last week. Unfortunately, the mod did not include any of Captain Marvel's various powers, given that it purely functions as a cosmetic modification.

Resident Evil 2 is available now for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
