When it comes to the Resident Evil games, some fans in the modding community like to up the challenge a bit. Recently, one modder decided to put an emphasis on survival by making RE2 a lot more difficult. Then there are other fans who perhaps want to shake things up a bit by taking aspects from one game, and porting them into another, often with amusing results. That's exactly what one user did recently when they took one of Resident Evil 2's most recognizable characters and gave him a bit of a facelift.

Uploading the file to the Resident Evil 2 section on the Nexus Mods website, user PlayStar201 felt things needed to a bit weirder in Raccoon City, so decided to swap out Leon Kennedy for the Nemesis model. Replacing Leon's head with the Tyrant's, as well as swapping out the former's jacket attire for the latter's garbs, the game seemingly continues to play as normal only with Nemesis instead of the good cop. Given that this is just a model swap, it likely means that the now-normal sized Nemesis will have Leon's voice, which is bound to make for a hilarious experience.

Even though Leon Kennedy is one of the most popular Resident Evil characters, PlayStar201 felt it was time to swap him out and give Nemesis the chance to do some good in the city instead. The mod description says this is every fan's chance to play as the friendly Tyrant, and they even suggested that, to add some more humor to the situation, people should download a mod which replaces Claire with Jill. By doing so, players would basically be transforming the game into a kind of Resident Evil 3 / Resident Evil 2 hybrid, with the characters from one, entering the world of the other.

This is also not the first time PlayStar201 has done something like this. Earlier today, a similar add-on appeared on Nexus Mods, which swaps Carlos out for Nemesis in the RE3 remake. It seems as though the modder is keen for the beast to portray his good side rather than fighting the game's protagonists.

Given that Resident Evil 2: Remake can take players anywhere from 8.5 to more than 30 hours to complete, it means players can potentially be spending a lot of time interacting with and helping out Nemesis in Claire's campaign, or actually playing as him in Leon's. It would be interesting to see what other bad guys PlayStar201, or anyone from the modding community, can transform into goodies.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is now available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
