It won't be too much longer before gamers looking forward to the Resident Evil 2 remake will be able to sink their teeth into the forthcoming title, and Capcom is starting to ramp up promotion in order to further excite fans. Just today, for instance, the publisher and developer put out some fresh video featuring Claire fighting Tyrant, and now the company has released another gameplay showcase involving both Ada Wong and Leon S. Kennedy in action.

As seen in the gameplay clip below entitled "Familiar Faces", those looking forward to the Resident Evil 2 remake can not only get a better idea of what Leon and Ada's rapport will be like, but also one segment in particular confirms that Ada is indeed playable at certain points. In order to get past a blocked path, she uses her "secret weapon" to overload an industrial fan with electricity so that it explodes and clears the way.

In addition to the video confirming Ada's playability, the gameplay clip for the Resident Evil 2 remake above dedicates the last half of its run time to Leon exploring some downright dank sewers and fighting a gigantic, mutated monster. Of course, this isn't the first instance of seeing the Raccoon City Police Department rookie fighting for his life in the remake, as Capcom chose to use Leon as the centerpiece of the action in its E3 2018 debut gameplay trailer.

Taking all of this into account, it definitely looks as if Capcom has put plenty of polish on the Resident Evil 2 remake ever since series producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi announced the project as being in development roughly three years ago. As previously mentioned, the wait for the title's release next year is going to be a short one from here on out, so fans will thankfully be able to get their hands on the game soon and be able to discover for themselves just how rich Capcom's re-imagining of the 1998 survival-horror classic will be.

The Resident Evil 2 remake is set to release on January 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
