Resident Evil 2's remake has received widespread acclaim for bringing back fear and a true survival horror experience from the original. One new video that tweaks the game is terrifying for an entirely different reason, and it's also pretty darn funny.

Resident Evil 2 is filled with cutscenes with carefully articulated, subtle facial expressions that help to bring the characters of the game to life. Turn the dial up on those expressions to the maximum, though, and one ends up with YouTuber DPO23's video. Taking the cutscenes from when Leon leaves the RPD for the first time, DPO23 cranked up the eye movements and facial expressions, with fully deranged results.

Resident Evil 2 fans looking for a laugh should make sure to watch the video all the way through, as it gets even more ridiculous in the second half. Rather than leaving it at just facial and eye animations, DPO23 turns up the full body animations on poor Lt. Marvin Branagh. As a result, he spazzes all over the screen as he's saying his solemn goodbyes to Leon, resulting in it looking like his handgun is sentient all on its own, too. While playing through the entire game like this would be a very weird experience, the video provides quite a few laughs on its own.

Resident Evil 2's release on the PC has also allowed for a wide variety of discoveries and mods to be made to the game despite it only being out for a week. Players recently dug through the files and found Chris Redfield hidden within Resident Evil 2, though whether it's intended to be added in later on or simply a remnant from the game's testing or development phase is currently unclear.

Of course, those without access to modding tools don't have to look too far to find hilarity within the base game. The playable block of Tofu makes a return to Resident Evil 2, and can be unlocked in a special campaign after beating the game and Hunk's Fourth Survivor mode. While Tofu was considered to be a joke in the original release, seeing it roaming through locales of Raccoon City in all its high-resolution glory makes for plenty of fun.

Resident Evil 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
