Since the release of the Resident Evil 2 remake in January, many fans have been returning to Raccoon City to slay its zombies and unravel its mysteries. While looking for Resident Evil 2's Heart Key and evading Mr. X, these players have been able to unlock a number of achievement-based rewards. However, a recently released DLC package now offers an expedited path to these bonuses.

Specifically, the Resident Evil 2 All In-game Rewards Unlock DLC is now available through the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and Steam. This DLC costs $4.99, and, as advertised, it gives players access to all of the rewards that can be unlocked in Resident Evil 2.

For clarity, these are the rewards that fans that purchase the DLC will receive:

  • The 4th Survivor Game Mode
  • The Tofu Survivor Game Mode
  • Unbreakable Combat Knife
  • Samurai Edge with Infinite Ammo
  • LE-5 Submachine Gun with Infinite Ammo
  • ATM-4 Rocket Launcher with Infinite Ammo
  • Minigun with Infinite Ammo
  • Additional Resident Evil 2 Costumes
  • Models
  • Concept Art

Some of these rewards are quite easily obtainable — unlocking The 4th Survivor Game Mode in Resident Evil 2, for example, simply requires players to complete an A and B campaign scenario. However, others ask for significantly more work, and players that want to gain access to infinite ammo, through standard gameplay, will need to receive S and S+ ranks on the game's Standard and Hardcore difficulty settings. As such, the All In-game Rewards Unlock DLC may be an intriguing prospect to those that wish to save some time and jump straight to the bonuses.

Indeed, this is not the first time that Capcom has offered this type of DLC package. In fact, Devil May Cry 5 received a similar bundle, priced at $9.99, just two weeks ago. That said, these DLC offerings still seem to hold a negative connotation for a vocal portion of the playerbase.

One aspect that some of these players may take issue with is that putting a price tag on gaining access to things like infinite ammunition could be seen as an attempt to monetize cheat codes, which other game's make available freely. On the other hand, players that find themselves unable to progress in a title might simply be happy to have a solution available, even if they have to pay for it.

Ultimately, fans that are trying to make a decision about purchasing the Resident Evil 2 All In-game Rewards Unlock DLC will need to consider what approach to the game they will find most enjoyable. Whether that be meticulously making their way through the title or mowing down all of their enemies with infinite ammo, both types of player are certain to find a lot to love in this survival-horror title.

Resident Evil 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
